Best Wireless Earphones or EarBuds over $250 in 2021

Moderators at OzBargain have decided to run yearly polls to decide the best products in popular categories that get asked repeatedly in the forum. Our aim is to have a central thread where users can vote on the items, suggest options and also change their vote throughout the year. The polls will end once the year is over.

Question

What is the best (true) high end Wireless BT earbuds in 2021?

As more and more phones now come without a dedicated 3.5mm Audio Jack, it's not surprising that wireless audio devices are starting to become more popular. True Wireless earphones (abbreviated as TWS) are also now common as Apple Airpods have ignited a new trend & styling.

Some of the things you need to consider apart from their sound quality:

  • Battery life of both the charging case and earbuds
  • Size of the charging case
  • How well the buds fit in your ear, comfort, could you wear it while jogging or exercising
  • The quality of the microphone for clearer phone calls
  • Active noise cancelling or passive noise isolation
  • Water resistance (for sweaty workouts)

Remember: You can change your votes at anytime, and suggest more than 1 product over the course of the poll.

How do I suggest products to What Should I Buy polls?

If you have a product that you would like to suggest for the poll (that is currently not in the Poll Options), you'll need to make a top-level comment (i.e. not replying someone else's comment) and fill up "Suggestions" text box just above your comment:

Suggestion box

Do try to make a sensible suggestion (e.g make sure the item is still available to purchase) and include a brief argument as to why you would recommend the product. You can only suggest 1 product at a time.

  • Suggested Apple Airpods Pro

    Airpod Pros
(Assuming you're already invested in other Apple products)

    • i have a galaxy s21 and they work great

      • yes other than the fit sometimes being a bit meh, i am overall very happy with purchase

    • And assuming you can get it for cheaper than $250

      • Ehh paid $296, no regrets (do have price protection tho, so no stress)

  • Suggested Jabra Elite 85T

    Jabra Elite 85t

(Purely for multipoint BT connection functionality, otherwise 75t is better bang for buck as well as a better fit as well as having multi-point, but is under $250 so doesnt qualify as a choice)

  • The type of earbud I use (in ear with silicone/foam tips vs AirPods style) will differ, depending on what I am doing whilst using them. I like using my AirPods 2nd gen (not the Pros) during short trips or around the house, as I can still hear other people and I can tell what's going on around me.
However, I have a pair of earbuds similar to the WF-1000XM4s and I use them for long trips and when I want to focus on something. Having in ear earbuds blocks out a lot of noise, which is helpful when you want to get stuff done.

  • Beats Studio Buds - Not over 250, but 199… and direct from apple have all the tech for the price.
Ordered a pair and getting some really soon. next week, theyre a new offering from apple.

  • +1

Sony or anything else that doesn't look stupid.

  • Suggested Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

    Sennheiser momentum 2

A good alternative to the wf1000xm4 imo

  • I use the Jabra Elite 85T on daily basis. The microphone / call quality is awesome, much better than the other cheaper earbuds I have tried. I also love the sound quality (especially the bass), no complaints. Highly recommend.

  • Suggested Google Pixel Buds 2

I have a Sony WF1000XM3 and it's too good and it's undeniable that the new model is better.

But if i got one right now i would be stuck between Sony WF1000XM4 and Google Pixel Buds. (not Pixel Buds A-Series)

  • Suggested Shure SE846-BT2

    Shure SE846-BT2

You can have it as wireless or wired. You can tweak its sound signature to 3 different types: bright, warm, balanced. You can pair this with any DAP without needing bluetooth.

    Con: expensive as hell

  • Suggested Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro

Galaxy buds pro - Best TWS In-ear in terms of tuning and pure sound quality right now (objectively against harman IE target), slightly bass boosted harman curve, more than impressive technicalities as well, enough to compete with some wired IEMs at the 200-300 price range. ANC isn't very strong and battery life is only above average, however the small form factor and top-tier sound quality puts it at my #1 spot.

  • Suggested Samsung Galaxy Buds +

    Just perfect for $110
