  • I just got this one from OW that looks very similar and $50 cheaper; I have to say I'm fairly impressed with the build quality for a 'cheap' gaming chair

apples with apples. Officeworks has the same model for $339.

    • I used to have that one in black, bought it for the first lockdown last year. Man it was so uncomfortable. After sitting on it for ~2 hours my ass was so sore. Had to get a cushion from the lounge so I could last through a workday. I don't have it anymore.

Stop legitimising "Gaming Chairs" like gamers have to sit any differently to anyone else in front of a computer.
These are all junk with bright gawdy colours that appeals to people who like to buy costumes in Fortnite.
Invest in an ergonomic chair and kill this stupid (profanity) label of GaMiNG ChAIR. Your spine doesn't care for your tacky taste.

    • Any suggestions for a decent ergonomic alterative in the same price point?

This one comes to mind: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/638260

Source: I'm sitting on it now; bloody comfy (teaching from home).

Same brand as the one above, and half the price of this "gaming" chair is this one :

        BlitzWolf BW-OC1

I added an extra lumbar support pad for my lower back and combined with the included pillow which I have positioned behind my neck for when I lean back it's very comfortable

      • I'm currently using a Buro Metro II chair, budget vinyl variant with armrests. It falls in the same price range of this, and sometimes cheaper when it goes on sale

    • ^ This.
These all come out of the same factory. Just have a look on Alibaba. The material is nice but these aren't good for your posture and they are hit and miss. Had a mate get an okay one, my one had a bolt that was threaded and also wouldn't line up properly so it's basically unusable and ended up buying another chair.

  • Sitting on a rock would be more comfortable than this.

      Link to your rock plz

    • bought 2 on special couple months ago (price match at office works). comfortable and actually no more back pains

only complaint is one of the chairs' wheels dont spin and this caused to scratch multiple surfaces it was (or wasnt) rolling on. not happy
contacted Onex, they told me to send a video of it. havent heard back. might need to visit officeworks.

  • I got a more expensive variation of this with a cushion etc. it’s crap and noisey when you move around, dont bother.

Bought one from Costco last year. Within 6 months:
3 castors had broken their mounts and fell out any time you moved the chair,
One armrest had split the length of the side,
    and the cushions became uncomfortable.

Wheeled it back into Costco, full refund.

So while I wouldn't buy it again, at least you have that peace of mind with Costco membership that you can that the chance your experience may be fine.
