Stupid ebay tracking. The courier/Australia Post should be enough. The problem with eBay and PayPal developers is they are too free to create new stupid thing but have no time to fix current problems.

    • That's not how it works.

  • I am not sure why I was negged.

When this new tracking appears, auto address from Australia Post and couriers failed to work because it occupies the first line of the shipping address thus failing the auto address search. Lots of merchants' orders got stuck causing havoc with shipping API.

More havoc when the package gets to the sorting machine that failed to recognise the address. Even eventually it gets sorted, postie will sometime send it back to the sender due to invalid first line address.

This new tracking number is called eBay Virtual Tracking Number eVTN.

For sellers who are using an Australia Post product*, eBay’s Virtual Tracking Number has got you covered. This is an alphanumeric code ('ebay' + 7 characters) that ensures we receive accurate tracking information and gives your buyers more visibility on the delivery of their items. https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/tracking

There is no need for this extra tracking, the Australia Post or courier's tracking number is good enough to show and track the package which was already working for decades.
