Recommendations for Monitor Mounted Camera for Office Video Call Meetings

Hi All,

I am using a monitor (Samsung 2721D 27'') and windows laptop for my office work. Have been using the laptop's inbuilt camera (only option available now) for past few months but its uncomfortable to adjust every time and use. Moreover unable to use monitor when on video calls because of the viewing angle.

Looking for suitable cam/ webcam to mount on top of my monitor and use for video calls. Planning to order online this weekend.

Could you please help with your recommendations ?

  • Brand - Any
  • Budget - No idea on range but anything should be fine
  • Specifications - Again no idea probably high def and should be easily mounted on Samsung 2721D 27" monitor

    Don't go over the top. Just get any webcam in the $100-$200 if you want your colleagues to see your pimples and wrinkles. Anything less than $100 if you just wanna be the guy that no one looks at in meetings because your video quality is shit. OVer $200 if you plan on acting like a cake-face model on zoom meetings.

    One of my managers was the ugliest thing I've ever seen (both personality and appearance) and having her witch face using her $300 webcam on zoom in full screen made me uncomfortable.

    You can also use your mobile since most phone cameras nowadays can do 1080p easily. Instruction here. I use a headset with boom mic as it provides the best audio.

      Thanks for your suggestion. Just don't want to keep the phone occupied, so went for a webcam
