Recommendations for head lamp

Hey guys

Just after a headlamp torch and thought I'd buy something decent. the cheapos I've bought in the past haven't lasted.

Does ozBargain have any favorites in this area? I'm just after the best bang for buck with great brightness.

Cheers

Nitecore, Fenix, Olight, etc. Can't go wrong with most of the established brands. Newer flashlights use replaceable batteries or inbuilt. Some can be charged via USB which does helps save cost if you don't have any other batteries + charger.

If you want something more hardcore, check out this one from Surefire.

  • Budget? Intended use? One that you can do night trail running isn't going to be much good for eating dinner at camp. The Energiser ones you find cheap at Woolies etc are actually decent if you want something for simple use.

    • Hey,

      Well it's a father's Day gift.

My dad has a farm interstate and is often traveling at night and is in darkness when he gets there. Budget. $50 give or take a bit

      • So just something for walking around, close range sort of thing? How tech savy is he, ie would he recharge one or prefer something he can just put AA or AAA in? Want extra features like red light or adjustable output or simple white and on/off?

        • I think batteries or PowerPoint plug would be the go. And yeah just white, and super bright :)

          • @Shane34: Super bright isn't good for close work IMO. You end up with a lot of reflection. My favourite and most used headlamp is only 40 lumens on the highest setting though it's an older obsolete model. A bit more brightness wouldn't hurt on occasion but 95% of the time it's perfect. I keep an older model of this in the car that might fit your needs: https://www.amazon.com.au/Black-Diamond-200-Headlamp-Aluminu…

  • Sofirn SP40. Best bang for buck in my opinion! (Much cheaper than Nitecore, Fenix, Olight, etc but similar quality.)

I can here to say the same thing. I just ordered one for Fathers Day from Amazon. Couple of stackable codes for them at the moment.

Sofirn Led Headlamp, Rechargeable Super Bright Outdoor Head Lamp Flashlight, CREE XP-L Led 1200 Lumens, Best for Running, Hunting, Camping, Caving (Battery Included) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07RN61H5W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_g…

      • This one is winning so far for me too I think :)
