    Has their network improved?

    • +2

I have used kogan alot (Vodafone network) and did well. Patchy in some regional area but never had issues around Melbourne as such.

      • +2

Way better than Optus or Boost (Telstra)

        • Way better than optus, no issues with boost though.

    • Check at rfnsa site. If the closest Voda tower is 1km+ from you, expect next to no service.

    • Depends where you live. I'm 10km SW from Sydney CBD, no Telstra reception at home but excellent Voda and Optus.
When i was working from the city, both Telstra and Vodafone were equal due to congestion during the morning commute

  • If i buy today, can i activate after 3 months? Thanks

    • +1

I think so, atleast under 12 months am aware but you can verify with vodafone support.

    • +2

You have a year to activate.

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to port from a Vodafone sim only plan to this prepaid start pack?

    • +1

Via chat support may be but in general don't think so as it's within same network.

Other option is port to kogan or optus ($2sim) then port back to vodafone.

Having said try vodafone support first.

      • I got redirected to 7 different people on chat and I still don't have a clear answer!

Port to another telco (like Telstra $2 sim) and port it back.

To check mobile phone towers sites in Australia….

Radio Frequency National Site Archive (RFNSA) website to search for active and proposed mobile phone base station sites in Australia. …

To specifically check - telstra, Voda, optus

Click = (top right hand side)
    Go to filter
    Click network
    Choose ur network

If u try to minimize the map
You will see the tower locations
Unsure what the numbers - 2 or 3 mean..?

Or just use the Aus Phone Towers app

  • No wonder it's on sale, can't imagine anyone paying full price.

  • Last time I used Vodafone on their "upgraded" network it was shocking. Won't bother trying them again.
