lol. gyms getting desperate to justify their existence
My gym sent an email to members asking for either a donation, or to prepay your next years gym membership
gyms & joining fees just take the piss, lock you into 12 months etc & milk you for everything possible. It's a service can someone tell me what you get for your joining fee? It's not like it a sports club where you then get inclusive use of the facilities

A plastic member card, worth next to nothing and someone entering your details into a computer.
Edit: Oh and maybe a bunch of junk encouraging you to "refer" your friends.
Jetts doesn't actually lock you In I signed up years ago when they had free sign ups but then they get you on the $30 access card etc other gyms like GoodLife or F45 lock you down for 18 months like a phone contract and ream you for signup fees and transfer fees if you want to get out of contract and someone else takes over. I just cancelled my contract as my local Jetts closed down without warning during the last Brisbane lockdown the other week and was paying fortnightly was as easy as an email and it was cancelled

Even "No joining fee" is hardly a deal.
I will say Jetts were good when I left, cancelled and that was that. When I cancelled Goodlife, their membership "consultants" hounded me for another month trying to get me to come back.
Let me guess, you just happened to sign up to Ozbargain to post this and you also just happen to not be associated with Jetts in any way?
Neg because charging $12 for a "joining fee" isn't a bargain.
