Entering Competition Information You Provide

Hey everyone

I am a noob around the ozbargin website so apologize if this information is already available
When entering comps do you provide your full name address as well as phone number or do you provide fakes ??

I've already got a burner email found out the hard way last time with the amount of spam

The $5 ALDI Mobile PayG prepaid SIM kit lasts 365 and as it's name suggests… only costs you $5.

Use that as a 'burner' number.

For Comps, since the competition organiser has the ability to pick winners they can potentially weed out "fake" looking social media accounts. I personally use a burner Twitter and Instagram account to enter comps but I've noticed a few instances where the system tells me that "throwaway" account got detected and I was made ineligible to enter. Probably quite obvious since I have no Twitter followers and there are zero likes on my IG account.

For FB I use my actual account but with privacy settings set to the maximum and with nick name instead of real name (as well as fake birth date)

Address — could always use PO Box instead of residential address if you have one.

    • Do you ever win any of the competitions ? How many do you usually enter ?

      • Not a whole lot, most days I forget to enter any at all, some days I remember and will enter dozens in a single go. I usually only enter the ones that use Gleam since they only need a few clicks to enter.

        • That's why I like the online radio site comps. Look up your local Nova etc and enter, most are just pre-filling details and hitting submit. Have been doing alright with those lately

Don't get too enamoured with Gleam comps. It's purely luck. I've won one in the past and regardless of how many burner accounts over whatever different platforms you use, your chances of winning are almost zero.

At least with 25WOL or creative comps, you actually fare a better chance of winning than just luck (of which over my 10 years of comping, I have very little).
