does anyone have a ball park figure as to what current model iPhones are likely to drop to when new models are announced and available?
As a follow up: are there any retailers that still offer a refund / credit to a price difference if purchased now and within X days the price is cheaper they refund the difference?

There has been $3-500 discounts in last month of 12 and 12 mini's.
you should buy one now in the sale. I bought a mini when it first came out because my old phone (iphone6) had to be charged 3 times a day. Great phone but I would have waited until the recent sales otherwise. It would have saved a cool 300-500 bucks.

There has been a lot of analysis in the past about when price usually drops and how much by.
They usually discontinue the older models rather than discount them; they take them back to use as warranty replacements and bonfire fuel rather than give people $50 off.
Sometimes though; they keep the mid range model for another year to sell as the budget model; in doing so they may take off $100 or something.
