Dreame D9 Robot Vacuum Mop Cleaner 3000pa Suction Laser Sensor Navigation

I know there are some deals and threads on this product. Would anyone like to share long term review?

Not expecting a $1000 robot vacuum performance from this but also don't want to buy something that is a total POS with both hardware and software.

Would appreciate feedback on:

LiDar performance
Area mapping and map saving.
Hard floor vs low pile rug/carpet.
Mopping
Software issues?

If not this - what would you recommend for under $400?

Thanks.

Total POS. Still having map issues after multiple software updates

    • Where did you buy it from ? Cant you send it back if its within 1 year of warranty ? How much did it cost ?

      • Purchased it from Gearbite close to 1 year ago. They only replace if it’s less than 6 months old.
Anytime I contact them they ask me to wait for the next software update thinking that will fix the issue. Paid $579 for a POS

        • You might have received a faulty unit I think. Hope gearbite can resolve your issues.

I've had it for almost a year. Works perfectly to clean the entire floor. The mapping function works but I always have problems if I reuse a saved map, the robot has a hard time figuring out exactly where it is on the map. But nowadays I just delete the map and restart a new map and the robot does a perfect clean. Just maybe not as efficiently is a map was used properly.

    • I think there will always be issues with Chinese/ under $400 lidar robots. If they were perfect - would Def cost $1k+. Anyways I usually buy new vacuum every two to three years so I really don't want to pay more than 300 to 400. Gearbite is currently selling this model for $360 I think.

ive just got mine from the recent gear bite sale and has used it for 3 cleans so far and it works flawlessly.
out of the box updated to latest firmware, deployed it and it went and scanned each room. The mapping was 99% spot on.

i don't know why people are having issues with it.

this is a 3 bedroom single floor house.

the one i got looks like its the australian version as it speaks english and the power plug is an australian type plug.

pretty damn happy with it as I have been thinking of getting the roborock s5 max due to the many negative reviews on this device.

I have a mix of carpet and hardwood floors and the auto carpet feature works perfectly, when on carpet it runs at max power and when on floor boards it drops the suction.

I have it scheduled to run every day at noon and so far 3 out of 3 days it has ran spot on.

    • that is great to hear. I placed my order last week and looks like Gearbite has just shipped it so might take a few days to come. Its an Aus version so fingers crossed. I asked Dreame to price match last week but they declined and now they have put D9 on sale for $399 for Fathers day. I got mine for $359 from Gearbite.
