I have some EFTPOS gift cards fast approaching expiry for use in basically non essential stores.
Maybe I'm missing something where you can during the click and collect, handing the cards to the staff. I assume the issuers and corporations will give an extension. But who knows?
Some are multi choice cards with key merchants of EB Games and JB Hi Fi .
Did you try contacting the issuer. They may be able to extend the expiry date.
It varies obviously from one card to another, but I used to have experience with various incentives and reward cards such as prepaid Visa/Mastercard, Myer, Westfield etc.
Generally they love to give the impression that they might have extended them if you had contacted them before they had expired.
However that line quickly becomes forgotten when you actually do call to extend them before they expire. Turns out it's just an excuse given to those that have already expired.
And gone are the days where you could just buy a new voucher with the current one.
At least you generally get 3 years by law now.

Are they stores' own gift cards or a third party one?
If stores' own cards, perhaps you can ask if they'll exchange them for ones with later expiry dates.
If third party, perhaps you can ask if any of the participating store would let you order over the phone and use the cards to pay when you collect.

If the cards have the EFTPOS logo on them, they can generally be used wherever EFTPOS is accepted. No cash out, though.
This used to be the case but now they've gotten rather good at locking them down to the particular stores now.
Yeah merchant locked and merchant category locked cards are so much easier to do these days and the upstream providers that offer this service to the types of people that run these prepaid cards have you gotten really good at locking them down.
I guess thinking about it I could send to a contact in a non lockdown state .
But surely they will extend them with the circumstances .
Are they 100% tied to those stores?
