They've updated the graphics from what I've seen in reviews. The story mode is actually pretty good especially if you enjoyed watching drive to survive on Netflix

What’s it like playing games like this with the controller? I’ve always used steering wheel & pedals in the past but haven’t got anything set up currently. Is it worth it or should I wait?
I've been playing with controller on PC while I wait for my new wheel to arrive, it's doable but I personally need assists on to be decent.
Feels relatively the same as any other racing game. I haven't tried previous years F1 games but you can customize how "realistic" you want the controls to get so it can be super easy almost mario kart level easy to near impossible to play difficult
I haven't played this one, but on F1 2020 there was some tracks I really struggled playing with the controller. Vietnam for example, needs a quite a lot of quick but very small changes in direction which I couldn't manage very well with the controller. I'd hit the first turn OK, but then either turn too hard or not enough for the next part. The sweeping bends at COTA and Suzuka were a bit challenging too, although the rest of those tracks are manageable.
I played with most assists off, I think I just had Traction control on low. But I felt like I could have had all the assists on and would still find it tricky when trying to push the limits as it's my thumbs that are the weak point.
I haven't bought a PS5 game yet, but this is super tempting!
