Car Insurance Queries Help Needed

Okay I'm sorry to bother you but I've never had to deal with an accident or claim before?

I'm asking if I'm not at fault and somebody hit me without insurance?

If I tell my insurance company will it cost me anything to fix my car?

Do I pay the excess even if not at fault? And other driver admits fault

Will the insurance company go after the other driver?

i have all their details in just worried I'll be out of pocket?

    i have all their details

    You'll be fine

Now go get the comments closed like every other thread you create…

  • If you can provide the other driver's details and it's definitely the other driver's fault - no, it won't cost you anything.

    The details you should get:
    - the driver's name, address and phone number. If the driver agrees - take the picture of the driver license
    - if the driver is not the owner of the car, the name, address of the person who owns the car
    - the car's registration number, brand, colour and model
    - insurance policy details

I also always take pictures of all damage to both cars.

And call the number they quote you, right there and then

    • Do I need to get money from them

… You really need to read the PDS, given you're not even sure about the basics.

  • Call the insurance company

    • This is OzPseudoSomethingOrOther.

  • What will happen with the costs? will they need to go after the driver or do I go after the other Driver?

do I go after the other Driver

      Yes

Open your PDS document, it will give you most of the info you need.

Of you were as good at using Google as you were posting comments every 5 seconds them you'd have your answers by now.

  • How old are you ?

I smell troll. Check out the OP's other posts. Seems to know quite a bit about cars, but not about car insurance?

  • Thanks to those who actually helped

    • First question isn’t a question.
    • Second question isn’t a question
    • It may initially cost you your excess until they can locate the other drive and determine if they are at fault.
    • Depends. Ask your insurance company. They all handle it differently.
    • That’s not up to you to decide. If it can be proved the other driver is at fault, your insurance company will deal with it.
    • Again, this is not a question.
