Higher End Laptop under $950?

Hey everyone,

I was looking for a relatively high end computer (preferably i7, 8gb ram and 1gb dedicated graphics) processor speed doesn't really matter too much to me, nor does screen size (I kinda prefer a smallish laptop so a smaller screen is probably better) or hard drive space provided it is above around 320gb. Also little extras like usb 3.0 or blu ray player don't matter that much at all to me.

So I was just wondering is anyone had seen a decent deal on any laptops similar to this recently, if you have I would be very grateful if you could point me in the right direction.

Also, i was looking at:

Does anyone have anything to say about this laptop? Does it seem like a good deal?

Thank you so much in advance for any replies

Cheers

I think this one is a bit better. 760 after cashback. i7 2670QM. You can buy 4GB of Ram more for round 20 bucks.

    • Cashback offer on that model ended yesterday.

    • Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think i could buy another Lenovo laptop, i had a HORRIBLE experience with an old Lenovo tablet, which just turned out to be completely horrible, though if my mistrust in this brand is misplaced, please feel free to say so.

  • Are you wanting it for gaming?

    • Yeah I am looking to use the laptop for gaming on top of just a little uni work :P

      • Could you be more specific with what games you're looking to play?

        • I'm looking to play games like battlefield 3 and portal 2, so basically new ones. I don't really expect the laptop to be able to play on max settings but it should play most games on pretty high settings

Oh, and Skyrim. don't forget Skyrim.

      • I think it will be quite a struggle to get one new with decent gfx. Most if your price range would be nvidia 540m which is naff. Would you consider 2nd hand or from overseas?

        • Nah I probably don't wanna go second hand and buying from overseas seems a bad idea knowing my luck. I've been looking around for a while now and that deal in the OP is really the best ive seen despite the 540m gfx. Surely the 540m can't be THAT bad, right?

        • My brother just got a laptop with a 540m and it isn't that bad, really not sure on how well it'll handle Battlefield 3 or Skyrim with the big maps and graphics but it plays modern warefare 3 fine.
