Are Silvi Pillowcases Worth It? Do They Work?

These pillows claim to give you clearer, healthier skin. I get skin blemishes and would be willing to spend $89 on a Mulberry Silk Pillowcase if their claims are true.

If they do work are there better value options with the same quality?

  • No and no. The one thing my wife says about them is her hair is less tangled in the morning. That's about it.

  • +1

Silk pillowcases are great for hair, especially people with curly hair, as they keep in the moisture and also reduces friction which cause tangles and breakage.

If it keeps moisture for hair, it possibly does similar for skin.

It’s more that cotton is absorbent, really. It will draw out the moisture and natural oils from your hair and skin as you sleep on it.

If you have dry skin, it could be useful to try. But it might not guarantee results.

That being said, $89 is a lot. You can get silk pillowcases on sale at spotlight for around $30. And I’m sure other places also have them cheaper.

  • $89 is pretty pricey for a pillow cover. I would take their scientific claims with a grain of salt. Marketing hype. Though a family member use these and said they feel very nice. At $89 I would expect it to be so

  • I haven't used this brand however I like mulberry silk pillowcases as they're cooler to sleep on so great in summer and also good for minimising bed hair in the morning.

The brand linked refers to silver ion technology so perhaps this is the differentiator in terms of positive effect on skin issues 🤷

    • Silver Ion Technology is just marketing speak old old tech of putting silver ions that react with bio-organisms. It just helps destroy bacteria.

I got no idea of it's effect on human skin from sleeping.
