Legion 7i Gen 6 16" Gaming Laptop Any Good?

Hi All,

Just saw 20% on the below 2 gaming laptop from Lenovo. Appreciate if anyone can comment if this deal looks ok?

Specs looks very good to me and price looks reasonable. Screen brightness looks very good on paper and GPU running at 140W.

The Legion 7 has over the 5 Pro.
Vapour Chamber so it goes harder and is cooler
    A cleaner less gamer design
    Per Key RGB
    Better RAM (SSD sometimes too)

    The rest is the same

Probably the AMD one will be bit cheaper, if not wait for a while for their special offers or discounts that they promote occasionally.
5i & 7i has PCIe 4.0x and maybe Thunderbolt as well, AMD don't. Reviews say the battery life is not good in 7i.

  • Thanks! After looking around have decided to build my own gaming desktop. Something tocdo during lockdown. It's been fun researching all the various components.

  • Can get further 16% off with Cash rewards Max (need ANZ debit or credit card) on top of the 20% off with GAME20 promo code bringing the price down to 2.51k for the i7 GTX 3070 QHD. There is also stock available. AMD has no stock till December so I cancelled my order and switched to this

    • I do have CR Max, Does the code stack with cashrewards? I couldn't see it in CR T&C

      • The code stacks. Mine is already tracking showing a discount of 400+ aud. This is the t and C on the cr website

Cashback is ineligible when using codes not listed on Cashrewards, including codes imported from other sites, or clicks made from 3rd party plugins, newsletters, banners, advertising etc. Cashback is however eligible on codes generated by Lenovo on its website, even though they may not be listed on Cashrewards, provided last click before purchase is from Cashrewards.

    • Seems like this is a good deal. During EOFY sales, I asked the reps for 7 series prices and cheapest they offered me was 2.3k for AMD 3060, expected delivery in November. So for extra $200 you get 3070, PCIe 4.0x and thunderbolt as well. Hope that battery issue can be fixed to some extent in the Intel one.
