Full HD or 4K Screen on a 13.3" Laptop - Any Difference in Quality?

Hi,

Is there any major difference in terms of display quality between 4k and HD on 13.3inch laptop display? I am in the process of making a decision which Dell XPS 13 model to order as there are two, FHD and 4k, with significant price difference.

I'd go FHD on a 13 inch. Minimal improvement at a significant price increase for 4k makes it not work it imo.
FHD is better for battery life too

  • For a 13.3” screen, I’d have more battery life over a higher resolution screen. Plus 13.3 is pretty small to really truly benefit from it. Battery > 4K resolution. So go the FHD over 4K

No point having a 4K screen on a tiny 13".

save your money, go full HD

as others said. 4k not really worth it for general use on a 13.3"

you will notice the battery drain when using 4k!

It depends what you do and how good your eyesight is. If you have very good eyesight and do design, CAD or GIS then it might be well worth it. What IS the price difference?

For a curve ball, I've been looking at these as well and leaning towards the 3.5k OLED screen. I feel like the OLED will be better than just a 4k (and comes in at the same price as the 4k).

I have an XPS13 with 4k monitor, the battery life is terrible having to push that many pixels.

Go FHD, you won't notice the difference.

  • Thanks everyone. I have made up my mind to order FHD :)
