Any Tonic Syrup Recommendations for G&T?

Just got sodastream to be paired tonic syrups, but when I searched online there was only a few selections.

Alternatively, if you have any homemade syrup recipies then please share it here!

I'm always thinking that store bought tonic waters are too sugary (tried fever tree) and thought of just trying plain cold soda water with garnishes paired with a gin.

Thanks in advance for reading/replying this post.

We just use the plain carbonated water - it has a unique flavour once carbonated, which can sub as tonic water in a pinch. We think so, anyway! ;)

Soda water with gin is good but can need some garnish, depending on what gin you have. Eg. Lime, orange, rosemary. Think can get juniper berries, although I've never tried them.

For low sugar tonic we get Nexba Classic No Sugar Tonic Water and it tastes ok to us.

    • I garnish with peppercorn, cloves, star anise, cardamon.

  • If you are using decent gin, soda water is fine (+ add a garnish to suit).

  • Rosemary syrup.
Dead easy to make, water, sugar & Rosemary sprigs. Add together bring to the boil, turn off heat, let it rest for an hour or so, then strain and bottle.

You should experiment with quantities/proportions, for your own taste.

Gin, Rosemary syrup and soda water, with a slice of lime.

  • Normally plenty of syrups in the marketplace on the Dan Murphys website, Sin Koh Nah is a good one.
