Vodafone has $600 off on iPhone 12 Mini variations and $350 off iPhone 12 variations on 24 & 36 Month repayment plans. You must join a month to month mobile plan if you are not an existing Vodafone customer.

Great deal for anyone who doesn't have a Telstra account to take advantage of Telstra Day deal.

This is my first post so please go easy.

iPhone 12 mini 64GB 128GB 256GB
24-month repayment $24.95/Month $28.29/Month $35.37/Month
36-month replayment $16.63/Month $18.85/Month $23.58/Month
iPhone 12 64GB 128GB 256GB
24-month repayment $41.61/Month $44.95/Month $52.03/Month
36-month replayment $27.74/Month $29.96/Month $34.68/Month

What happens if I cancel my service before the end of my device repayment period?

If you cancel your service early, you need to pay out the remaining balance of your Mobile Payment Plan at the undiscounted RRP as you’re only eligible for receiving the device discount if you stay connected with us on a selected plan for the full device repayment period.

The remaining balance is calculated by taking the undiscounted RRP divided by your device repayment period (for example 12, 24 or 36 months) and multiplied by your remaining months.

I don’t think people would like to be locked for 36month contract

    • that was my concern as well until I got clarity from the vodaphone rep. I am on an existing $40 month to month plan with them and I am free to move to any carrier anytime I want. You can also choose 24months repayment option.

      • Don't you lose the discount if you do move though?

  • +1

Plan starts at $40 per month. I assume you’ll lose the discount if you cancel early

    • yes that's correct you will have to pay the full price if you want to payoff the phone in one go. It's still a great deal in my perspective because I am just paying the phone off in repayments and no lock in contract with the the plan itself.

      • Then pay RRP or only the discounted ($600 off) phone price?

  • +2

the elephant in the room of course …is that the 13 series release in a few weeks so 12 prices may drop even if there is a chip shortage

    • +1

I doubt it will be any cheaper than $600 looking at the IPhone 11 current prices

  • Telstra is selling Iphone 12 minis outright today for $720-770

    • It requires you to have a Telstra account though.

      • Ah my bad didn't know that!

      • +4

Just buy a $2 sim from Coles/Woolies. Activate it and use that to create an account.

        • I didn't think about that. It's a good option. But the phones are cheaper at Vodaphone though. For example you can get the IPhone 12 Mini 256GB at Vodaphone for the price of 128GB at Telstra.

          • @mns: Only if the Vodafone plan is cheaper (or no more than $100 more) than your other phone provider too…

          • @mns: Vodafone has no outright option like Telstra?

            • @hawkeye93: That's correct, they do not have outright option.

      • Yeah - but you can get a Telstra account if you sign up for Bigpond Movies (i.e. it's not that hard)…

      • +1

Just call JB or Officeworks to price match the Telstra price of 720

      • Why wouldn’t you be with Telstra?

        • +3

Why wouldn’t you be with Telstra?

          The appalling customer service maybe?

        • +1

I'm with boost (still telstra I guess) but my 2+ year old Telstra account with no plans still lets me log in and that's how i've ordered two of these 12 mini's

        • I had unlimited data with telstra at $40 a month, then switched to voda for the same plan at $35.

  • The discount seems to be only valid on 24 & 36 months plan …. For 12 months you have to pay the RRP

    • it was valid on outright purchases yesterday which was great
edit: oops im thinking of Telstra

  • Since the OP does not have the exact prices listed. I think I should lay them out, because everyone is frothing over the Telstra prices… and this is MUCH better, provided you are fine with a vodafone plan (e.g $40 month).
Total handset cost will be $678.60 for a 128GB iphone 12 mini. Telstra is $767.40. Vodafone is $88.80 cheaper than Telstra.

    Iphone 12 Mini 128GB
    24 Month cost $28.29/m
    36 Month cost $18.85/m

If you are fine with the 64GB version, it is an insane $598.80 on either 24 or 36months

    • on a plan yea but not outright

i already have a boost prepaid 12 month plans and got two minis on telstra day sales.
      why buy another plan?

The Telstra deal was always the outright cost

  • -1

Your phone won’t last 36 months

  • So $25 a month with a minimum $40 plan for 2 years = $1560.
How is this a deal? I can see why Vodafone has ‘discounted’ the phone.

    • that's not the deal

buying outright via telstra for $400 less than RRP was the deal

      • You still need to have an existing account with Telstra similar to Vodafone deal and you are getting $600 off RRP compared to $400 off at Telstra.

        • how can anyone count it as $600 off when you have to buy something else.

Like saying "Free house and land with every $1m doughnut purchased"

          • @ndftz: Because everyone needs a phone plan to use the phone. And if you are already with Vodafone, nothing changes

            • @MasonDelta: That's inaccurate

I have a few phones that i use just fine without a phone plan

I only need one data plan to tether from or (in lockdown times) just frequent access to wifi

But If you're comparing in composite then its worth comparing with the best phone deal you can get.

On voda id say that's Kogan mobile
              For Telstra, i use Boost

Feels so good not having a monthly phone bill

  • The iPhone 12 mini is now only being offered at $100 off (was still live at $600 until last night), while the iPhone 12 deal has expired completely (has been gone for a few days now), so this deal is finished.

  • Saw this last night. Went in to the store to pick one up first thing today and the deal is over. Should have ordered last night sigh
