  • Its a genuinely good game now, its just held back by the bugs and the stupid Subscription making the endgame hard without more storage.

Can get an easy 50+ hours just doing base story content / exploring.

I used to really enjoy Fallout 4, but I've totally ignored 76 with their rough launch. Do you think it'd be worth a go in this case?

      • +2

According the internet the game has improved a lot since that rough launch. At this price, I'd say go for it. Considering you liked fallout 4, you'll get your money's worth in the worst case scenario

      • 110%.

Its better than 4 in the sense that dialogue choices (in the wastelanders + storylines added) are based on Faction / Special attributes etc.

Lots of excellent, unmatched, environmental storytelling that is just as good if not better than FO4 (obviously not as much quantity but still good) which has always been Bethesda's strong suit. Their "direct" stories have never really been good imo.

I bought the power armour edition 2 years ago when it was $70. Started playing the game last year and put around 120 ish hours.

Only downside is I wish I could mod the bugs and dumb design decisions out like I could with FO4.

Edit: I forgot to mention the BoS is probably the best, most realistic take on the BoS yet IMO. Takes them a long time to actually trust the player!

FO3 was too goody two shoes and too trusting.

        FNV was plain braindead BoS.

FO4 was very good but you simply can utilise them as much as I wish (mods do fix this, example BOS + Minutemen alliance building settlements).

        • Ahh I see, thanks for both of your thoughts! I'll definitely consider it

        • I paid around $15 a year ago and I'm enjoying fallout 76. I'm level 54 and the major problem is the storage, 1200 is a pain in the ass. I spend have my time sorting shit to drop.

          • +1

@mckayver: And yet sooooooo much better than the 800 storage we started with.

            • @AgentInky: Should be 2000 or you should be able to expand your stash with credits or something.

        HOLD!!! be strong..

It's also on Game Pass if you find that more valuable.

  • Much better than EA's Anthem. lol

  • +1

$12.21 when changed to pounds.. £6.49.. when using my 28 degrees card..

  • This game is gonna be amazing when it gets to $4 in like 1-3 years

Which is the same price I have picked up all the other fallouts maybe besides 4 I got impatient on that one.

    • I bought it for $2 yesterday at EB Games. Unfortunately, the advertising is false and I can't play it. It was a card with a scratch code on the back and the top green banner says "XBOX ONE WINDOWS 10" and below that "Full game - For both XBox One & Windows 10 PC".
It turns out that is BS and only activates on XBox.

      • Yeah console get it cheaper for some unknown weird reason.

PC gonna have to wait another like 1-3 years before it hits those prices.

But a million and one games to try and drool over until then.. there is no rush I don't even really need to play this game just curious will probably be a 3-4 hour once off session in like 5 years then never play again forever.

  • So this is like a basic version, and the 'wasteland' is the full version with all DLC or something?

    • +1

Base game. DLCs are free. They earn by selling FO 1st subs and atoms.

  • Good price, if it wasn't FO76

A bit off topic but I purchased Overcooked from cdkeys about 2 years ago and it turns out that when I try to get the key from them I get an "available shortly" response from their system. I sent them a support request and they reckon they need to give me a credit because they don't have any keys? Does anyone know how that works? How do they sell me something they don't have/not allocate a key for me at the time of purchase?

  • You'd prefer buying this on steam with VPN
Subscription cost under $2 a month afterwards

    • How do you use a VPN with steam? I thought your steam account is tied to a country

      • +1

Use Russia or Argentina giftcards on the account with respective VPN and your store region will change. Afterwards, you can use the entirety of your current balance while logged in to your normal connection with no issues.
Can check steamdb for price comparisons.
