    "Convertible Pant"

So can I put the top down and let the boys breathe in summer then?

    • +1

And you can do that with just one button!

  • Should be good for the golf course. Thanks OP.

    • You're welcome.
I usually wear these for fishing, but in a lighter colour though.

      • Why lighter colour? Fish don’t like black?

        • Black gets too hot in the sun.

          "Fish don’t like black?"
I don't know, are they racist?

  • Hey does anyone know if these are long in the leg? I’m 6’4” and it’s usually the issue with pants…

    • These have a 32inch inseam.

      • +1

Thanks I saw this info but in my experience there’s still a fair bit of variability between manufacturers on their interpretation of 32inches and mine. It’s hard to find a pair of pants that don’t freeze my ankles

        • I'm in the same boat, tough finding any cargo type pants with good length! Would like some long legged feedback too!

        • +1

I'm 6'5", I need 36" inseams, so usually no pants form normal places.
I got these earlier in the year, and they are fantastic - https://www.511tactical.com/au-en/stryke-pant.html

          • @snuke: Thanks very much for the link. Do you find them ‘noisy’?

            • @Pretzal: No, they are crunchy or swishy or anything like that.

    • +1

Just when you think you are alone, reading your comment made me realise I’m not the only one with this issue 6’4” and exposed ankles. Can’t find the right length and hate the short pants fashion

    • Way too short. I'm 5'11" and generally need longer than 32"

This looks like that material that goes swoosh swoosh swoosh when you walk

    • Really good point. I have a pair of Kathmandu pants that are like this. Never again.

      George Kostanza's suit.

  • I've been waiting for something like this for ages.
Costco hasn't released theirs in over a year. THABKS OP!

Review from Outdoor Gear Lab on these pants might be of use:

"The Columbia Silver Ridge Convertible is a lightweight model that we think looks better than it performs. We find that these pants have limited versatility. The material is thin and breathable, which means they do a fine job of keeping us cool on warmer days. They also quickly dry if you get caught in a passing shower. However, they offer no water resistance, and the total lack of stretch in the material limits the wearer's mobility, especially during climbing sessions, or backpacking over rugged terrain. Though they are comparatively inexpensive, we recommend paying a little bit more for a higher-performing model."

I've got a few of these pants and have to say, they're really good for fishing.
If you're after pants for hiking, I'd recommend looking for hunting pants.

This is what I wear for hunting/hiking.

      • The pants seem the business but make quite a statement. Not for casual wear.

    • and the total lack of stretch in the material limits the wearer's mobility

The model in the add is also wearing one size too small, probably can barely move.

Thanks for the review, give these a miss, I was after some lightweight summer walking pants for sun protecton

    Conservative rave wear.

  • Love my convertible pants. Currently getting used as pajama pants but were great when backpacking was allowed. I think i only paid around$30 though for north face ones

  • Has anyone establish yet whether these are long shorts, or short longs?
