New Gaming and Movie PC Setup

Hi guys looking for some assistance / advice.

I'm looking to purchase a pc for a gaming slash entertainment system.

I live in a town house with two kids so only one living area and an open study.

My plans for the pc are to be used as a second living type of area. For example kids are playing on the ps4 in the living area I can watch streams / movies / Netflix or do some gaming on the pc. Or else I'll be on the ps4 kids on the pc. I would like something that can handle some decent gaming or cinema type experience. I'd like to completely deck out the area for approx 4k but willing to change if need be.

Spoke to a local pc builder and got quoted the below. What's everyone's thoughts? Happy to pay a little more to support local business and not interested in building.

If you're going to watch media on it I'd go for a bigger screen like a 48 or 55 inch.

    All the fantech are garbage.

Put in each part into https://www.staticice.com.au/ and compare the total prices available vs the offer.

You can also goto https://www.scorptec.com.au/systems/custom_system/ if you want to play around with different parts.

Id say you are being overcharged by at least $500 on the low end at a glance, and as high as $1000

Definitely not value for money build.

Spending $3,000 to be given a B450, only 16GB RAM, a mechanical HDD in 2021 and cheap Fantech junk is a travesty.

That's not a very good build at all.

I should add if anyone can suggest alternatives very open to hear it.
And thank you everyone for the feedback
