[PC] Free - Jill of The Jungle Complete Trilogy @ GOG

1940

You can now pick up this classic DOS game for free from GOG. Flashback to what seemed like yesterday but was really 1992. I know this has been free before but that offer expired some time back. Not sure when it became free again or when it may end so grab it while you can.

Quote from GOG…
Fortunately, Jill is a tough lady. She can run, jump, and skillfully use her knife and spinning blade. Want to really trick Jill’s opponents? Find the magical icons, and Jill will transform into a flaming bird, a leaping frog, or even better, a fish who can shoot bullets! Even though Jill is prepared for the dangers of the jungle, helping her complete her mission will not be easy. Do you have the courage to help her?

Jill of the Jungle: The Complete Trilogy includes:
Jill of the Jungle
Jill Goes Underground
Jill Saves the Prince

oh mate this is my pc childhood right here, still remember instaling it from the 4 odd floppy disks it required

Hahahah me too but I didn’t have the trilogy. Just Jill on a 3.5” Floppy

      Ohhh the memories - https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSnglj4…

Me too. Begged grandparents to send away for the remaining two games but nope (I don't think it would have been easy sending a valid money order to the USA anyway)

I didn’t even know there were sequels. I’m guessing number 1 was Shareware 😂

    • I remember this game. It wasn’t very popular at the time, but seems to have a bit of a nostalgic following now.

      • I used to sell pre-loaded Shareware Discs down at the Belmont Common (Geelong) and Jill of the Jungle, Dangerous Dave and Commander Keen were always in the Top 10

Started selling 5 1/4 " Floppies and then started selling the fancy new 720K & 1.4MB 3.5" Discs.

    • I am rubber you are glue

gg.deals reckons that this has been free since at least 2019

Looks like it has been posted on here a few times too. Though doesn't appear in the title of posts.

I acknowledged that it had been free before but was shown to have expired, hence my comments.

Roger. I read over your post too quickly 😄

    • It's also number 15 here.

Includes a tonne of other free games on GOG as well

  • Is this the game that plays a sound for every single key on the keyboard?

is this like leisure suit larry? :) she looks like a swinger.

That laugh when she dies freaked me out as a kid

  • Does this run under Windows 10 OK?

    • Answering my own question - it does, well according to their website.

I wonder if it is the original code, or whether it has been recompiled.

      • I remember with some of those DOS games, it was a challenge to get them to work under the OS they were designed for. Sound card and graphic card issues.

    • +2

Yes, it comes with a DOSBox wrapper that takes care of everything for you and it is the original game.
