Printer for Small Living Space

Hi All,

I'm looking for some considerations on a Printer that's small or that can be tucked away neatly, most printers a big boxy and take up lots of space and for the amount of printing i'm planning to do (very minimal but need to print some sheets every now and then) I dont want to have to dedicate a big space.

Forgoing flat bed scanning and if possible a feed scanner perhaps? are there anything smaller that would suit or suggestions? i've looked at a few "mobile" printers but not needing a battery or "on the go" kinda setup, just a smaller sized setup..

Ideally something someone has used or recommends,

Just go to Officeworks when you need to print?

    • has been the go to, can't at the moment and needed to print off, used to use the office too.. both out for a while..

      • Well next time you're at officeworks. Got for a walk down the printer isle and find a small one. Buy it and take it home with you!

      • can't at the moment

You can still print and collect at officeworks. At least, you can in Melb.

Blog post about someone with the same issue and looking for small printers.

But if you want to skip the lengthy blog post, they went with a Brother HL-L2305W Printer

It still looks kind of boxy though since there needs to be room to fit a toner cartridge and an a4 paper tray.

      Its not really 'that' big….

      Product Dimensions (mm)
      356W x 360D x 183H mm

  • Figured we'd be at the point of laser especially mono printers being much much smaller than they currently are.. they're still quite a chunky block, like i'm ok with no paper tray or like a simple feeder of a few sheets..

Might have to consdier the "Mobile" ones it seems they've not really innovated on the mainstay printers..

Because most people would want paper storage, which results in it being at least the size of an a4 page

Don't criticise the industry because you believe your use case is warranted for a good % of people. It's not.

  • even if there is a printer in the form factor you're after, it wouldnt be worth the cost based on your infrequent use

  • This works fine and has a small footprint. I got it for $117 a while ago.

I have one of these and it is perfect. Sits on my shelf in the office and takes up minimal space. It is B&W but it is perfect - https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/printers/laser-mono-mult…
