How to Connect 2 Seperate Speakers to PC for Stereo?

Hi guys,
I currently have 2 Google Home Max and I'm trying to connect them to my PC to use as stereo speakers.
I tried to pair them as a pair and then connect 1 of the GHM to my pc, which works but there's an audio delay about 1-2s, which is fine for music but is extremely annoying.
I tried to connect them to different audio ports on my motherboard but only 1 of them will work. The other can only be setup as rear speakers.
Currently I'm using an aux splitter and is able to have them both play sound without delay but cannot seperate them to left & right.
Is there a way I can have the PC recognise them as 2 seperate speakers as stereo?
My motherboard is a dinosaur Gigabyte z97x gaming 3.
Thanks in advance guys.

  • Did this help ? https://www.google.com/search?q=google+home+max+stereo+pair
    Check the youtube result.

    • That's what I did but there's an audio lag about 1-2s. It's fine for music but extremely annoying when watching video.
Right now I'm using a 3.5 Male to 2 Female Aux Splitter to connect both GHM via aux. It plays sound on both of them without delay but cannot stereo.

Would this seperate them from your computer?

In that case, what you want is a splitter cable that sends the Tip (plus Sleeve) to one speaker, and the Ring (plus Sleeve) to the other.

Such as this one: this one - note how one plug is labelled TIP and the other SLEEVE.

Put another way, you want "stereo to 2 x mono", not "stereo to 2 x stereo" which you probably have now.

Also note, this is not a headphone / mic splitter, where the "stereo" end has two metal rings (or three black lines).

        Cheers.

Thanks guys. I was searching for something exactly like this and ended up buying this cable before checking back. Will post how it goes once I receive it. Hopefully it works.

cause getting an actual set of stereo pc speakers would of been too easy…

      Firstly its would've.

Secondly. This is ozbargain. Not piss your money into the wind at every opportunity. Nothing wrong with being frugal.

Home max x2 is not cheap and you are getting a lesser speaker for the money with unnecessary features. Buying fit for purpose should be encouraged, heard of unshielded speakers doing damage when used with a pc.

      Not, what MacGyver would do.

You can get software that reprograms the audio jacks on your mobo. Or you can get a stereo splitter cable. Most splitter cables don't split a stereo signal, most splitting cables split it off so both cables off it have stereo. You need a breakout cable, like this https://derringers.com.au/hosa-ymm-261-3-5mm-trs-m-to-dual-3…

    • this here

    • After some googling, I managed to edit registry to have the pc output to 2 ports so I can now connect both speakers to 2 different ports but still can't split the stream as PC only recognise them as 1 speaker set.
I guess I'll have to wait for the hosa splitter in order to do L & R

  • The delay from what I understand is because of the streaming via the internet rather than directly to the speaker like what would normally happen with a regular speaker. I had this when I was trying to do a similar thing with a Google Home I have.

    Just an update.
For anyone who might looking to do similar thing. The Hosa stereo breakout is the solution.
    Thanks everyone for the help
