Fujifilm X-S10 is this a good deal?

Hi All,

eBay currently has 20% off on various electronic products.

Digidirect is offering the FujiFilm X-S10 (Body only) for $1469. With 20% it comes down to $1175.

Is this a good deal?

I have no idea on how the sale are for mirrorless camera and this will be my first one.

Thinking of paring it with the 33mm f2 prime Fuji lens – also on 20% off offer.

I understand FujiFilm offers regular cash back, should I wait this offer or just get one now for $1175 + the cost of the lens.

Leaning towards Fuji due to their film simulations.

Camera will be used for personal photos, portraits, street photography and vlog/video.

  IMO the X-S10 is the best bang for buck camera on the market at the moment. I convinced my in laws to get one and they love it. The 35mm f2 is also excellent although the focus breathing is a bit irritating.

  Those two together would be a killer combo and the sale prices you've found are pretty decent. You'd struggle to get much cheaper even second hand.

  Fujifilm cashback is a bit unpredictable unfortunately

      Depends on your shooting preference really. Personally I love the 27mm for everyday walk around, street etc cos it's so small and inconspicuous plus stupidly sharp even wide open. I have both that and the 35mm f2. If I was going to get another lens I would probably go the viltrox 56 F1.4 for affordable bokeh portraits

      I have this camera and yes I recommend it for both Street and portraits.

      35mm f2 is the way to go :)

  I just bought the 90/2 and 50-230II from the same place (digi on ebay with 20% off).

  Last year I recall seeing the X-S10 for a little over $1k in Camerahouse Penrith, I recall it well because I said to them I was shocked to see it at that low price and they made a point to say that they are aggressively being price competitive, even with places like Amazon.

  Digidirect are an annoying seller, they often sell stuff they don't have. I am still waiting on a cable I ordered from them 2 months ago. I would not be surprised if my two lenses I ordered just now take over a month to get to me, but I'm not in a hurry and with lockdown I have fewer options to shop around.

  X-S10 is a nice camera, but it does feel a bit like a toy, I'd be careful with it is all. It's actually crazy to think that the s10 for $1k has the exact same IQ as the XT-4 I have which is double the price! Of course the XT-4 has more bells and whistles but its pretty cool that you can pick up cheaper cameras from Fuji that match the IQ of their flagships, not sure many other brands can say that.

    I was hoping the Sony A7iii would come below $1500 but that doesn’t seem to happen anytime soon.

    Checked some reviews and found the FujiFilm and it fits right in my budget and those film simulations are crazy! I had no idea they even existed!

    Btw XT4 has amazing reviews!! Seems like a great pro camera.

    If decide to buy, it’ll have to check the delivery dates and stocks.

  Bought my X-S10 a few months ago. Great size and features for my use, very happy with my purchase. That’s a great price IMHO. Have never bought from Digidirect though.
