      Lighting?

      • -3

Most people would already have lights.

I don’t see the appeal of light tiles either but to each their own, I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • No doubt would keep the Mrs distracted/entertained.

    • +2

Same reason they have a TV instead of talking to their families; distraction.

    What a slow website.

      "lol" - ACCC.

Yep they have decided that because they can't shift these they don't want to support them either.

My entire apartment is hooked up via LIFX, but I don't recommend the Tile kit. Didn't mesh the colours well between tiles and often dropped off the wifi. Even at $199, I'd probably just recommend going the Nanoleaf products …

Have an uptoot for the deal though, $199 is a steal if you like it.

    • Nanoleaf had 9 tiles for $225. I much better deal in my opinion.

      • +1

I like the nanoleaf look a little more, but from memory they're just single colour for the whole light aren't they? The tiles have 64 zones in them and have a heap of ways you can extend them with something like Delfick's Photons - ymmv though

Avoid this company. Since the pandemic began they have stopped responding to warranty issues full stop, and the app is glitchy as hell.

    • Also prices of their smart lights has gone through the roof in recent years. Used to be quite affordable. But can find cheaper alternatives these days

You must have been unlucky. I had great service to a warranty claim last month.

      • +1

Last year: please submit warranty request when the pandemic is over. We will honour all warranty requests based on the time you originally tried to submit.
This year: you are out of warranty.
There is no way to contact them or progress the form, and they don't respond on Facebook.
        Maybe I will try again.

Edit: seems like in the last couple of months or so they have changed their warranty form and finally I might be able to contact them.

    • My experience has been good.

They replaced my light strip when it broke (which was honestly my fault anyway). It took a few months for them to receive stock, but they kept me informed the whole time.

      • My experience was alright in the past (pre-pandemic), but they are uncontactable now.
Edit: seems like in the last couple of months or so they have changed their warranty form and finally I might be able to contact them.

I threw my tile kit out in the end, clunky pairing issues, tiles would disconnect, they would never pair to HomeKit and the mini usb connections are very loose which I feel was the main problem. Support weren’t overly great.

I’m not surprised they discontinued them!

I have many of the Lifx lights in the house including two of these tile setups. Great idea but. They always drop off the network and require set up. When doing the setups also has its own mind on whether you can join the network. App on set up is poor, the app on functionality is great. Too frustrating to bother most times with the lights, so the tiles never get used.

    • I have to power cycle mine to get them to work at least once a week,so annoying

  • Trying to get these to pair again is almost impossible. Can't be that difficult but they sure found a way to make it.

  • Lifx has been pretty good to me, got the tiles up on a floating shelf to make life easy because these are a pain in the ass to stick to the wall with all the cables. they're real bright and have a nice look but, just recently my tiles have been stuck on a glowing red supposedly due to a bad connection and only work like an iphone charger when you have to have it at a certain angle to work.
