Need Help Finding a Good Standing Desk for around $1200

Hello, I'm currently getting back pains from working at home so I'm wanting try and transition to an electric standing desk. What do you guys recommend?

I've currently found these ones below:

Product Brand Price Warranty Size Cable Tray?
OMNIDESK PRO 2020 OMNIDESK $1154.12 10 Yrs 152.4x76 cm Yes Extra Cost
BEKANT IKEA $608.00 10 Yrs 160x80 cm Yes
IDÅSEN IKEA $799.00 10 Yrs 160x80 cm Yes
Dual Scalloped Melamine Desky $973.95 10 Yrs 150x75 cm Yes Extra Cost
ZEN STAND UP DESK Zen $1013.95 10 Yrs 150x75 cm Yes Extra Cost
UpDown Desk PRO Up Down $963.00 10 Yrs 150x75 cm Yes Extra Cost

Wants and Requirements:

  • Good Looking Height Controller
  • No Middle Desk Curve
  • Strong and long enough to support 2 34" Ultrawide
  • Well Balanced, should be strong enough to stand on
  • Doesn't wobble
  • Dual Motor
  • 5 Year + Warranty
  • No longer than 160cm. Depth must be at least 60cm +
  • No Wood Textures, needs to be Black or White. Will rest next to my LINNMON to form an L Shape.

I think the OMNIDESK and Zen Desk are the exact same thing just rebranded. They have the same lead time for accessories and have the same controller. $140.17 Difference.

Ikea ones look nice but they don't offer any memory settings and the cable management tray is a fabric net.

Currently leaning towards Desky.

Max Budget $1200

Thanks.

Check out Matrix Executive desk from O/W. I have one and its quite good.

    • Thanks, had a look at that one. My only issue with that is that it has cable hole covers where my speakers would sit. Weight capacity is also a bit low. I weight 70kg and sometimes need to jump on desk to plug cables in.

Have you experienced any wobbling while it's in standing mode?

      • No wobbling while in standing mode, have had 2 x monitors on before. It's a single motor only so I imagine it not as good as those with dual motors.

    • I have heard the OW matrix has issue of the motor in the middle hurting your knee

      • I have also seen reviews with that complaint. I'm 170cm and havent had any issues with the motor getting in the same or it hitting my knees. Maybe if you are taller / have desk at a different height to me, it could be an issue.

  • There are several previous posts. Onus on you to check details but this may fit the bill well under your budget:

  • If delivery time is important to you I ordered a desky on Aug 31 and it is yet to be delivered (understand the postal system is under strain right now of course too). They did not offer same day dispatch as advertised as they said they were swamped with orders so if that is important to you I suggest messaging the customer service bot to see if they can actually do same day dispatch.
