The entire idea behind the Glenfiddich Experiment Series is that with great risk comes great reward and their IPA offering is the proof of the pudding. Speyside craft brewer Seb Jones created a specially formulated India pale ale with an eye as much toward seasoning the barrels used in its brewing as to its drinkability. Then Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman uses these casks to age hand-selected spirits and creates a singularly satisfying single malt. To the nose, it has a slight malty sweetness with touches of citrus. On the tongue, it has just a touch of youthful tanginess with notes of vanilla and lychee mixed with hops.

Is this really $81 for 700ml of beer ?

    • IPA Whisky

No, the whisky has just had it's final aging in IPA beer casks.

      • Oh… thanks….

  • I can still purchase

  • Got 1 thanks OP!

  • does it really worth the 80 bucks? I mean it's 43ABV, no age statement. Jamesons Caskmates go at 55.

    • I tried it at an event a few years ago, it's nothing special. The IPA doesn't really add much of note.

I quite like the Jameson Caskmates Stout, but even then it's only pretty subtle difference from standard Jameson (and the price is much better).

You could do a lot better for an $80 bottle of whisky.

I don’t think you should spend $81 on this, there’s far better for the price.

    • Agree. Got this and the Glenfiddich 12 year old for my birthday last year and i prefer the 12 year old that goes for around $60-70. At $80 there's better choices.

Agree that your personal preferences are subjective on this matter - anyone who hasn't tried it, should, imo it's nice.
