Item Quantity Changed for My Order?

Just want to know if anyone else has experienced this?

Yesterday I went on the adidas website to purchase some shoes for my brother and I. Checked out as usual.

Later when I received my email confirmation, my order showed that I had purchased 3 of each item. 3 pairs of ultraboosts and 3 pairs of slides when I only meant to purchase 1 pair of each.

I'm ONE HUNDRED percent sure I didn't changed the item quantities. IWhen I went to press the button to confirm the order on the payment page, my total was $180. My brother was beside me as I ordered and he confirmed that he saw the exact same as I did.

Adidas instead handed me a confirmation for 3 of each pair with a total of over $500. And to top it all off, the order was shipped off within 3 hours and while Adidas support was offline.

I've called them as soon as support was online and they can't cancel the order. I know I can return them but it'll be a massive hassle and I don't like that I'll be out of pocket for that money for a while.

What amount has been deducted from your credit card?

    • 550, which is consistent with the email confirmation I received.

Except that the order confirmation is not consistent with what i actually ordered at checkout.

      • 3 times $180 is $540, why $550?

Because I'm just rounding the numbers to the nearest ten for simplicity's sake.

@zhu0073: But we are a very complex mob on ozbargain. Specific details and accuracy is paramount.

          • @zhu0073: Maybe they rounded your order up for simplicity's sake?

Yes I've had this problem a few times. Added 1 each of a few different items and while checking out I noticed multiple quantities of everything in cart. Have had to manually edit cart again before check out a few times. I think it's a glitch in their system they should fix asap. It's rather frustrating!
Usually things have shipped out very quickly by Adidas in the past which is usually a good thing for most.
If it's already been sent and no way to change order then you could just use the free returns and send them back for full refund. Follow up with a call and request quick processing of the refund. Atleast the return won't be a fight like a few other retailers. Cheers!

    • Yup seems like that's what I'll have to do.

In my case though I know for sure as I checked out, my order was accurate.

Not much you can do here….. But deal with the 'massive hassle' of returning 2 sets of the items and getting a refund.

The time op spent creating and monitoring this thread will be approximately equal to the time it will take to send back the unwanted items. What a hassle.

      • Agreed…. The items have shipped, not much they can do now but to arrange a return and get a refund.

  • Could you be using Cashback sites? Massive $30 cashbacks with Adidas at the moment. You may make an error then delete and order twice and finalize with third? Or you may forget to delete the first two orders? If the former, Adidas site may have added those two cancelled items due to system not refreshing itself yet. Kinda bizzare though, if you see $180 and click pay that's what should have finalize it with.

  • oh well just go with the fact you wont need shoes for a while

same thing happened in amsterdam when I ordered a joint, i swear i only asked for one but ended up getting 7
