i wonder why anyone buys this brand, once someone gave my son a pair as a gift and they are the worst ever shoes i have seen.

really? what do you normally wear? Saucony Triump 17's were listed as one, if not, the best runners for training prior to marathons. What does your son wear now for running?

edit: props to the person that probably did their research and gave your son a pair of Triumps though…

      • i did not say he got a Triumph, well if you are saying Triumph is one the best i'm not going to dispute it, i myself have never worn this brand, what my son got was a basic pair of this brand and i can tell you it was just bad its possible that experience negatively impacted my perception on the brand , i cant remember what exactly it was but we donated to salvos.

What do you mean by 'basic'? You can't really expect the cheaper pairs of shoes to last as long/feel as good as the expensive ones.

        • I'm a long term runner, and usually see marathon runners training in Sauconys & Hoka's running shoes (which are generally better than any Nike, Adidas, etc shoes that arn't within the elite realms of racing). When race day strikes, they shift to race shoes like the Nike Flyknit 4%.

@Beezum: I agree. Saucony Triumph is the best shoe that I used (Adidas, Reebok, Asics Nimbus, UA & Nike) though they are very ugly.

    • I'm quite sure I'd find a lot of "ugly stuff" in your wardrobe. That's subjective.

Your "worst ever, just bad" opinion would be better if you knew what model and the reasons why they are "the worst ever" for your son. Is that comfort? Shock-absorption? Durability? Ugliness? It's hard to imagine "the worst ever shoes" if you don't remember why.

I've never had one myself, but I've ordered one after reading many reviews as I need good shock-absorption.
