PCBYTE Shipping Fee

Context.
Purchased two articles on same order from their webstore.

  1. 4 port Gigabit switch
  2. Acess point marked as free shipping

Both articles are small and not bulky.

Was charged shipping whilst checking out. Accepted and assumed that this could be a website issue.

Dropped a line to their customer support requesting refund of shipping cost if the articles will be shipped together.

Was denied refund and offered (repeatedly) to cancel the order. Their argument is that both products did not list free shipping.

The shipping fee does not bother me. However, their logic does.

Is common sense a rarity these days?

I suppose it depends on the added bulk or weight of the items (even though I appreciate a multi port is bugger all weight, but the box is another 10x5x5 cm minimum).
Maybe the access point manufacturer has a special deal with their resellers to rebate the shipping costs for the month. They would know the exact weights and dimensions for shipping of their products and would reject any variance.

Well yeah, that makes sense to me. If you add anything to the order that doesn't have free shipping, then still expect to get free shipping I think the error is on your part.

Their logic is reasonable, and what I would expect.

    It seems so…

    0 + 1 = 1

In what type of common sense scenario will 0 + 1 = 0?

WTF kind of logic is this.

If OP had ordered both items separately they would have paid shipping on one and received free shipping on the other.

If they were charged roughly the same amount for shipping the two items together I fail to see any issue. It didn't cost OP any more.
