Unfairness from Our Deal

So I had a $10 credit in my Our Deal account - its been there for so long I no longer know what I got it for.

I went to buy a deal - only because I thought it would be $10 cheaper than the advertised price with my coupon. When I applied the coupon and entered my details, the website said my credit card details were incorrect. So I had to re-enter them. I clicked ok immediately, and only after clicking through, discovered that they had NOT applied the coupon when they had "refreshed" the payment page.

I wrote to them and asked if they could apply my $10 credit and they have refused, stating that they won't do a refund for a "user error".

I'm sorry, but how is it my fault that AFTER I have elected to use the coupon/credit, THEIR website decides to "unapply" it without bringing this to my attention?!?!

What a rip off, I get the feeling they're denying me just so I'll be forced to make another purchase just to use up the credit.

sigh Another group buy site on my "banned" list (along with Deals.com.au - who actively engage in lies and deceit, and Spreets).

  • usually websites hold these types of data, do u have cookies enabled? If you dont, then it is your fault…

    • I don't know about cookies, but whenever the payment page has refreshed on other sites, the code I've used hasn't disappeared eg ASOS.
First time ever something like this has happened to me when using a code.

  • Poor form, OurDeal.

Poor service like this probably costs the company more money than refunding as the OP wont be buying from them again, not may other readers of this forum after seeing this experience.

Scoopon are #1 on my avoid list but it doesn't sound like this mob are much better.

  • Our deal hit my banned list this week too, telling me fibs instead of dealing straight up. A 'no' answer I can handle when asking for a refund but telling me stories takes me straight to 'never deal with you again '.

  • For the sake of a lousy $10, you'd think they would honour your request. I'm sure companies like this end up losing far more than $10 just by the bad pr they generate over such a petty issue. I read all these horror stories in the forum and it's totally turned me off using any group buy site.
