    I've found that the free version is good enough.

    if you read Grammarly terms and conditions in details, you will see that you are agreeing to Grammarly to upload your contents on their servers for their analysis and storing for future.
    They uploading everything single thing in your system that it has access to - Email, Word, PDF,EXCEL, NOTEPAD,POWERPOINT, BROWSER etc.. This is the same reason why I uninstalled Grammarly.

        Go back to the life before using Grammarly. I don't think there is any alternative which doesn't do the same.

    I know it's not Grammarly, but would you consider Microsoft Editor?

    There is a free version for basic suggestions, but if you have a work/personal M365 subscription, you get a more extension set of suggestions and corrections as part of your subscription.

      Been using that and the paid Grammarly. YMMV but Grammarly still has an edge over the Editor with my usage anyway.

      None of these tools is foolproof, it's still up to you to determine if their suggestions make any sense in your context.

        How long have you been using the paid version?
        What type of writing do you mainly use it for?

        I can't get the paid version of editor because you need office 365

    A little late but I was able to find this link for Grammarly that still works. It might be useful: https://gram.ly/HSMb

    Brings the cost down from $144 to $66.23 . Also, I am pretty sure those prices are USD and not in AUD
