I noticed The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is on sale on PSN. It seems at the historically lowest price below $20. Not sure I should grab this one or wait for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 10th-anniversary special edition on PS5. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition will release on November 11, 2021.

  If I had to guess I would think it work out cheaper to buy this now and then upgrade to the anniversary edition when it releases. But I'm only guessing.

  Mods are limited to in-game assets on PS4, and I don’t believe this will change with the Anniversary edition/upgrade, though I’m sure there are still some decent mods which draw from native assets for this version, it’s still an important consideration if you’ve already played/plan to play via Xbox One/Series’ or PC

  I just did a quick research. It seems that the owner of Skyrim Special Edition on the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S will received a free upgrade to an enhanced edition of the game on PS5 on 11th November. Bethesda will also offer a paid upgrade path from Special Edition to Anniversary Edition, which unlocks all the aforementioned Creation Club content.
