I ordered mine way back when the promotion first came up on ozbargain cause i had 1000 point and figured I wasnt going to be doing much else with the points.
It arrived today (11 weeks instead of 6-8)… But im not sure if i should be amused or angry really..
The original promotion was supposed to be a sensation XL with a set of beats by dr dre headphones, as pictured here, http://newtechnotebook.com/gadgets-htc-sensation-xl-smartpho….
What arrived was a little different, the sensation XL yes (locked to vodafone, but apparently unlockable) but not the headphones, instead they sent these http://www.whathifi.com/review/ath-ws55i with a note saying how vodafone had run out of the dr dre headphones and so coke unleashed replaced them with these.
Now I cant imagine the dr dre headphones that comes with the htc sensation xl weren't like the top of the range "beats by dr dre" headphones which retail for upwards of 300. Also, the ath-ws55i actually reviews very well from what i can find (anyone with any experience?).
Ironically the ath-ws55i is actually made for ipad/iphone/etc (though im pretty sure my sgs2 and nexus s both happily use iphone headsets). So, im really not sure whether to be amused or annoyed. On the plus side i'd probably not have spent those points on anything else, and i've gotten a htc sensation Xl plus a decent set of headphones out of it. Did anyone else go in for this promo and did you get it or something else?
But how would the rest of you feel in the same situation?
Probably the most amusing part of it all is that 1000 points (100 bottles of coke) is really only about $300, while the phone by itself i can probably ebay for more and hence actually make a profit form my own coke addiction. Ultimately im finding it hard to be annoyed, but theres part of me that feels like i should be for some reason.
My Coke Zero addiction has only landed me a couple of movie tickets which also took forever to arrive. Have about 400 points stashed but there are no good rewards to bother with.
Anyone with crazy points should go for the PS3's which are new. Don't know how you'd manage to get 5500 points, that's 55 weeks worth, redeeming the 10 per week limit.
