Going to need this for those Hungry Jacks coupons…

  • I went to the gym once…

    • Exactly. There is no benifit to a free week as a week in the gym will do jack sh*t for you. Most likely you would go day one and be sore for the next six days.
If you already go to another gym then by going here for a week your wasting your current paid membership.
And lastly if you plan to join up (most likely 12 months) your technically getting a discount of 1.9% ( 53 weeks for the price of 52).

They have these every day of the week don't they???

Not to mention the high pressure sales tactics & demands for direct debits!

    • +2

      Just say no means no!

    • Give them a number attached to a disposable sim.

      • -1

No, I'm not sure that would be enough. I had a friend who took up one of the "free" 'Business First' offers…to get it she had to give a bank acct number, and had to jump thru numerous hoops to get it cancelled. They started the debits on the day after the free period expired, then she had to put the request for cancellation in writing, then it got "lost", then more battles, FT was called…it was a shitfight to say the least!

I would hope this particular one is a genuine offer with no strings attached; but I would be extremely wary of 'Business First'!

I remember them ringing me this one day where I left the phone home. I was like WTF??? this many calls! There was about 20 calls in the space of 3 hours. Even after i joined they still called me about "special deals" that only i could get because a "friend" was in there

  • Only if they do not require you to give any details that allow them to contact you or bill you could this be considered a deal.

Ie: Collect your drivers license number. Put it in the database so that only "first time visitors" can get it. Then leave you the hell alone afterwards.

Worst fitness company/gym in the world. STAY CLEAR of this SCUM!

    • couldn't have said it more succintly myself

  • +2

I've taken their free trial once around a year ago, they didn't ask for my bank detail but kept calling me more than a dozen time a day! Just use a random mobile number when you sign up if you can.

  • +1

after the 7 days they call you almost every day to see if you wanna sign up permanently. Sooo not worth it!

I used one of their 2 weeks free pass before. They called, went in, didn't give me the price I would want to pay to join up and never received a phone call after that at all. I guess it depends which state you are in.

In Perth, everything here seems more expensive. The Fitness First foundation Platinum membership in Sydney and Brisbane cost $15.95 a week. Here in Perth for the new City Square gym is $18.95 a week.

If you search carefully in the internet, you can get a two week pass free. Rather get that than this one week free pass where the time period is fixed.

    • yeah but in perth you have those mining specials that go for $30 a fortnight

      • Work in that industry and never heard of mining specials provided by FF. Cheapest deals are usually family & friends or foundation. We already guessed that the foundation over here would be higher than over east before FF released the price.

        • I think it's called the fly it fly out membership. I think it was subiaco FF that does it.

i swear i didn't even go for the trial yet and they called me over 3 times in one day. For a week… before i blocked them.

  • +3

And don't give them your mate's numbers to "waive the joining fee" either. That's a low blow!

    • Then don't, give your bosses + fake name :)

      • How do you use fake names when it says photo IDs are required?

        • +1

Easy, call yourself McLovin and say you're from Hawaii :)

        • Fake ID :P, knew a guy who could get it for $10.

        • I never got asked for ID

Gonna plus this. 7 days is a good time to get an idea if its what youre after and how busy it gets. Fitness first can be good value. What if it's your closest gym for miles, you get a good corporate discount (I get20%), the classes are at convenient times or the equipment is available when you're there, you join on the no contract option if that's what you want, you utilize the 20 or so offers and benefits like health insurance.

Give a bad mobile number or something, yes they will call.

  • +4

Why is this still here? Not even a deal! Available EVERYDAY!

  • Was plannning to sign up however I cancelled just before signing the contract…. however, somehow they kept my mobile number and keep calling me at least 2-3 times per day (using different numbers). I've added all of the numbers to my contact list under fitnessfirstscam1 and fitnessfirstladyscam.

Also, this deal is available every day. Hence ^
    :/

ahahaha lol. What my friend did was say he couldn't stop eating KFC so he couldn't go to gym. They stopped calling after that

  • +ve

  • +3

  • +1

    Are gyms cults?

    • This one is

    • +2

      you misspelled 'cults'

  • they normally give you 2 weeks free, so i don't see how this is a bargain.
