Online Car Broker - Any Recommendations?

I am in Perth WA and trying to buy a new CX30 Mazda

Dealers have no stock and acting tough on price

Thinking of using a car broker to negotiate to get close to fleet price

Any online broker recommendations? Are there any based in Perth?

Dealers have no stock and acting tough on price

So what discount were you looking for on these non-existent cars?

OP: This is my final offer, otherwise I will walk away.

      Dealer: Sir we don't have..

OP: I'm not bluffing, I'll walk away.

Dealer: But sir, we don't have any …

      OP: Thats it, I'm leaving.

      Dealer: ..stock.

OP: Thinks to self: I need a broker

Internet says 10%, but should be able to get 20% minimum

Start at 50% for first offer, leave your details and tell them to think about it

      • Make sure you have a pineapple poking out of your shirt pocket so they know your a cashed up genuine buyer

  • Dealers have to order it in so not budging on retail prices. However brokers are still doing good trade deals. Keen to use a reputable online broker which is why I was hoping for some advice on who to go to

Thinking of using a car broker to negotiate to get close to fleet price

Yeah nah… I used to work for a high volume fleet dealer (25-50 units p/m) and I can categorically tell you that a broker can't access any special pricing tier that the average Joe can't negotiate for themselves - seems to be a common misconception around these parts.

Whenever I got a RFQ from a broker I'd give it to my retail team because they're simply not worth the time and effort compared to (real) fleet customers who purchase multiple vehicles in a single transaction.

Customers are quite literally paying sticker price just to secure a vehicle, so if you expect a better price you'll soon find yourself at the back of the queue.

      • Yep, this has been my experience too! Prior to covid when you could negotiate, I was never able to find a broker who could better the price that I had negotiated … and this was with all their claims of volumn purchase discounts etc! In fact most of the brokers I dealt with could only get sticker price … and now I know why!

    • Brokers don't get fleet pricing. Companies with 5 or more vehicles in the company get fleet pricing, as do employees who nobated lease, not for profits etc

Broker will also ask the dealer for a finders fee

Not sure which corner of the internet is telling you how wonderful brokers are, but don't be under some misconception that's true

But but but… John Cadogan can “save me thousands…”

You all laugh. I have worked for a major bank and was in charge of pricing their entire Home Loan portfolio and broker customers definitely get a better interest rate than retail customers. Yes plus we paid brokers commission for the referral. Never made sense to me but that was the sales strategy to get volume by providing a better interest rate. Not sure if cars are any different to home loans….but you honestly safe thousands going to a home loan broker

Not sure if cars are any different to home loans…

      If role == broker then car_broker = homeloan_broker;

      Computer says No.

but you honestly safe thousands going to a home loan broker

Plot twist, OP is an “Associated” with home loan brokers…

So why make that statement? 😂

          A wheely good deal?

@spackbace: A wheely good deal? said the car salesman.
A wheely good deal? said the loan broker with a lisp.

        OP’s user name failed.

  • Nah no discounts, no stocks!

  • dude, there's a huge shortage in the market. It's really basic economics. why do you think you can get a discount? The guy right behind you is willing to pay full price. Move over.

    • Broker has offered almost 10% off RRP so worth it to shop around it seems.

      • OP gets 10% off, you won’t believe how he did it. Car dealers hate this one easy trick…

  • Car broker to save on new car price? Are you living in fantasy island?

Home loan broker is not the same as car broker

    OP dreaming

    • Hmm interesting. I contacted a few brokers. some are useless all they did is past my details on and no doubt expect a commission. some are great. did work and got me good pricing. better than retail at car yards. Just out of interest why is new car broker not same as new home loan broker?

      • why is the GP not the same as a dentist?

So you posted this on the night of the 7th (Thursday) asking about brokers, then by lunchtime on the 8th (Friday) you'd received quotes from them already…

    Ah huh

    • Yes I know how fast are they? I guess they have good fleet contacts.

      • I'm also in WA looking to buy a new car, would you mind sharing your recommendations for brokers?
