Online Computer - Good or Bad?

Hey,

Did anyone else buy a cheap $299 from - www.onlinecomputer.com.au and get the mouse, keyboard and speaker?

I noticed that a couple of people didn't and just wanting to follow up if you did eventually get them….I didn't and have heard nada since 7/03/2011. Also noticed that some people didnt get their PC's for a while and wonder how that turned out.

Since they post on this website perhaps it is a good forum to point out some bad service or mis-communication. Hate being a killjoy but I basically haven't got what I paid for and wonder if I am the only person.

Power to the peeps!

  • I got mine after about 10 days and several complaints. Came included with mouse keyboard & speakers and worked well.
However it came with a P8H61-MX motherboard which does NOT support HDMI as originally advertised.

    • So you too didn't get what you paid for, really. I did get the ASUS M/B with HDMI. Be keen to find out if there are others. I dont want to start a witch hunt, just point out it is unacceptable.

      • Which M/B did you get?

        • Hahaha, I just presumed I did and after closer inspection I also have received the P8H61-MX M/B. Im angry now. Thanks for replying cause I wouldnt have even thought an issue without checking.

  • Since they didn't specify a motherboard in the original ad, it's hard to know whether we are better or worse off.
It's just possible that something is better about this one. maybe lol

I get what you're saying but, it isn't what was advertised. Which as a consumer, I am not happy about. It appears for the moment that it is just you and I that have issues with this….I for one wont buy from them again. Misleading, bad customer service and overall a bad experience…regardless if the machine works ok.

  • Based on the specs they gave ("Asrock H61 Motherboard" & "VGA/DVI/HDMI Output") I assumed it was meant to be the AsRock H61DEL. But on a second look that's only VGA+HDMI, no DVI. And the ASRock H61M-S only has VGA & DVI, so it's not that.

I can only conclude it was a mistake, since I can't find an AsRock H61 model in Australia with all three outputs that doesn't have SATA3/USB3.0 (the ad said SATA2 only and didn't mention USB at all).

    That blows. Hmm.

    Hi Guys,

We are sorry for the typo in the specification for the last $299 Deals, but we more than happy to provide, DVI to HDMI Cable for free. please kindly send your enquiry along with your order number to [email protected].
    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    Regards,

    OLC

    • Thanks. I am happy with that

      • I am happy with that as well. I would like to say just one thing tho, and it is just a little of (Hopefully) constructive criticism. You guys are obviously not a big outfit and I appreciate that you did offer a very good system for a very good price but you must have known that the customer service aspect wasn't up to scratch. This thread wouldn't have even existed if you replied to e-mails or managed this better. I wish you all the best in the future cause if you got this bit right you would be VERY competitive.

This company doesnt know anything about customer satisfaction!! My order only arrived monday - that's 3 weeks after i ordered and paid. 3 weeks!!! I have to go and pick it up from the courier still, so can't comment on the no keyboard/mouse/speaker issue. i also sent an emailand NEVER received a reply. If you buy a computer from these guys it better be really cheap to make up for the poor customer service.

    • Hi sickllama,

I'm so sorry for the long delayed and you have to pick up the goods from the courier. Please kindly send your enquery of free keyboard Mouse & speaker to [email protected] and we will send them ASAP. Again we are apologized for the long delay and not be able to provide 100% of customer satisfaction guarantee. we really appreciate your feedback and we will improve our customer service quality.

      Best Regards,

      OLC

  • Wasn't sure whether to create a new post or piggyback onto this one, but the last comment of the rep sealed it for me:

"Thank you sickllama, we will try our best to improve our customer service in the future. Regards, OLC".

I won't be shopping with OLC again after I ordered a laptop shown as 'in stock' from them, received a request for payment from them a day later, transferred my money to them immediately, didn't hear from them for a week, then got a phone call telling me that it wasn't in stock and would not be available. Well, if it's not in stock, then don't ask for my money??? It is still showing on their site today as 'in stock'.

I was willing to give them a second chance, so while I was on the phone to them I looked at their website and picked another possible laptop (also shown as in stock). They checked. It wasn't in stock.

Furthermore, I had to email them to tell them that I wanted my money back??? Did they perhaps think I might want to give it to them as a present??

Once I emailed them, I got a reply full of apologies and so on…Not…
    Here's how it started:

    "Dear customer,
I have helped you cancelled your order of…"

TIP: If you know my name, at least use it???

There are over 1,000 computer stores online (and several had the item I ordered for a very similar price). No effort made to recognise this, nor to apologise.

Poor form, and not improved customer service at all.

PS I'm not alone - see http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/on-line-centre-pty-ltd/… for someone who had almost the same experience with online.
