iPhone 13 Pro Max Order from Harvey Norman: Click & Collect or Delivery?

Hi Everyone,
wondering if anyone have experience with an order from Harvey Norman then suggest which option would secure me an early Delivery.

I want to purchase an iPhone 13 Pro Max from Harvey Norman (if I didn't have gift cards worth $1500 then I could go for any other retailer. so this is my only choice ATM)

I contacted the store and they got my pre-order over the phone and asked me to also keep checking online if you see that our tore gets a stock. When I check online then none of the stores shows stock (as expected) but for delivery, it is showing 6-14 Days for ACT and no time for NSW (Just shows Australia wide Delivery).

Now should I stick with my pre-order from the store or cancel the order and place an online order for delivery. We only have one HN in ACT and I can see that JB is frequently having this phone in stock and even delivery is in a week's time.

any help/suggestion and past experience are appreciated.

    any help/suggestion

I would spend those gift cards on something else for immediate collection/delivery from HN, and then avoid that business altogether.
And I wouldn't buy an iPhone.

Not sure if HN use startrack for phones, but I'd click n collect to avoid postage problems..

I would suggest the third option - use anyone but Harvey Norman

While I agree with the other posters points, who cares if you have to wait another week or so for the phone?

It may affect the vanity value…

  • flip a coin

  • $1500 for a phone.. lol..

    • Probably more like 1800 but hey every OP is free to enjoy their own pain!

      • With credit card cash back, woolies gift card. I am about $1100 out of pocket for the iPhone 13 Pro Max 256gb.

And when I should be able to get back another ~600 from tax deduction. So all in all.. $500, which aint bad. I could sell it off in a year and make profit really.

ok, I really have to ask, how do you get a 600 tax deduction on a 1100 purchase?

          • +1

@curlyhart: Probably claiming deduction on the full $2k it whatever silly amount the phone cost. Though even doing that, not sure how it's possible, as you would have to claim depreciation rather than the entire amount.

            • @brendanm: Yeah you're right, it'd be over 3 years. So I probably should've mentioned that, not quite $600 off the bat.

If your work allow you to salary sacrifice your purchase though, and you're able to use your own card for the purchase. You would make that saving instantly.

Don't forget to include that as an income on your tax return if you later sell it.

You can't buy something, depreciate it at 100% and then sell for $$.
