A fair shake of the spray bottle hey!

    • I came here to say that. I use a $2 spray bottle from Bunnings, filled with water, set to jet spray for long distances. When cat does something undesirable, it gets it. And it learns well.

    • A month or two back our local Woolies had them marked down for 80c. Now there's one in every room! Almost posted the bargain but there wasn't really enough stock

The reviews aren't promising, is it one sided or double sided?

    • From Amazon:

1.0 out of 5 stars Single sided

Description suggests that this is double sided, with the adhesive meant to deter cats. It’s single sided. Could have easily purchased cheaper regular tape. Don’t bother with this product.

    • I'd say the reviews mentioning double sided may have either not read properly or the description has since been updated:

SINGLE-SIDED DESIGN: This is a single-sided tape, which can effectively prevent pets from grinding their claws on furniture.Protect your upholstery from pet claw damage with anti cat scratch furniture protector. The single-sided design also protects the pets claws from being hurt.

Unsure what double sided tape would really accomplish but fur/dust buildup etc, yeh the cat might get a sticky paw but the tape would become pretty horrible looking on furniture. I have similar tape on my couch like a 90 year old nanna and it does the job well but my cat now just goes above/around the corners I've put this on and welcomes the spray bottle being pointed in his direction so it's just a hoot. Not the tapes fault though.

  • Just buy clear double sided tape, works like a charm, cats learn really quick and its basically invisible.

  • This is single-sided sticky, the other side can not peel,it is for protection purpose only .

My cats have destroyed the sofa and I can't be bothered buying a new one. They will destroy that too.

  • We put something like this on a couch years ago, and our cats loved it. They scratched continually at the tape and would run around with bits stuck to them. It was as if the tape was impregnated with catnip!

  • How do people stop their cats chewing cables?

Mine seems to love the rubber kind

    • Our kitties grew out of it. Maybe try a few things they won’t like the taste of.

    • Try a bazooka

      …or a spray bottle.

  • Too late :(

  • I have it and don't recommend it.
It's a thick shiny packing tape sized tape.
My cats would still scratch this too.
Purchased a cardboard scratcher and a sissal scratcher and Cats don't scratch the furniture now.
At a pinch I've used this so called anti cat tape to wrap presents until I could get some real tape
