    I have a sinking feeling

  • Still need to build my Taj Mahal and Nintendo SNES.

I still prefer the Colosseum over this Titanic though.

    What a disaster.

  • I'll wait for those sweet deep discounts

    • It's exclusive to Lego. If you saw discounts on the Colosseum you might expect some on this set. But I never noticed discounts on the Colosseum. 🤔🤷‍♂️

this will be the 'tip of the ice berg' more sets to come

They even designed the model to split in half.

    Too soon?

  • It's interesting that despite having larger dimensions and a lot more pieces than the 75192 UCS Millenium Falcon, it's still launching with an RRP of $1,000 as opposed to the $1,300 launch of price of the Falcon.

That should mean we'll see the price drop below the $800 dollar mark for the Titanic eventually as the UCS Falcon reached an all-time low of $831.97.

      Excludes the Disney tax

True, the licenced sets are always the most expensive.

It could also be the fact that it's a lot more of a repetitive build with a smaller variety of brick moulds.
Although the interior sections are not hollow and do have a decent amount of detail.

    • Charge what the market will bear.

Jack could have fit on the door

I read that there's going to be a GWP (gift w/ purchase) on release date - a buildable iceberg.

    • Not true

Time for a revival of set 5002136 City Iceberg. Would be a good companion to this set.

    Rose: Jack!

    • Jack: Rose!

  • How long till Lepin come out with their version?

Could go down like the Titanic.

Considering the build is split into 3 sections…

Iceberg should've thawed out by now lol

  • Cool set but a lot money

  • +2

Hopefully the set comes with a companion SS Californian that can sit in the corner of the room ignoring the Titanic.

  • I think the must-have set is the Airport Shuttle Monorail

  • I don’t care about the price, it’s awesome and I want to be one of the first to get one and enjoy the moment.

If it comes on special Later then I’ll buy a second as it has the potential to be worth something down the track.

Looks like a super awesome build and the shelf presence is insane.

I loved lego along time ago but my feelings have changed slowly over the years. Building is still fun and all but once completed what do you do with it. Its not quite a proper scale of anything as its just an improvisation and you won't want to tear apart and build it again as that's just silly. So it just ends up wasting space in a corner collecting dust.

    • So it just ends up wasting space in a corner collecting dust.

Or it ends up being on display in glass display cabinets and actually makes quite a good conversation starter and enhances the overall room decor.

With the ever-growing cottage industry of Lego display options like cases/mounting brackets/stands/coffee tables, lighting kits and accessories, Lego doesn't have to just gather dust and be forgotten about and it can look like far more than just a "toy" these days and actually be a decent ornamental addition to a room (i.e. man cave).

      • Valid points, but it doesn't take much for Lego to outgrow the space available in a room. Especially sets this size.

I don't see too many people dedicating entire rooms to display things like this either.

In terms of "rebuildability", I've seen groups on Reddit that swap watches every few months. I wonder if you could do something similar with Lego so you break down the set and send it to the next person on a list and you then have another set sent to you?

  • Anyone managed a pre order today?

Says online but can’t find the actual pre order option, unless I missed out :(

  • Hope it comes with binoculars
