Haven't bought anything yet, but when I go to the Google Play Store, and click on movies or music, I no longer receive the dreaded message, "This is not yet available in your country" but instead I see the option to purchase them.

EDIT: Doesn't look like you can purchase anything at the moment, just browsing at the moment through.
I don't why some people only see books and apps, I can browse through all the movies to rent and music to buy, but if I try to purchase them it asks for an American credit card.
I can see it on some of my Google accounts and when I'm using an American VPN.
I suppose the same thing might happen if your Google account was created in America (or using US IP address) but you tried to access the Market in Australia. Google will think that your birthplace or place of residence is in the USA, and show you the US Android market.
Thanks for that, I made my account with an Australian IP address, but I do use an american vpn every now and again, some settings probably got changed somewhere.
