Perfect for my upcoming Bass Strait crossing. Cheers OP

    • RIP.

  • I've been looking to do some rowing in the bay with my son. Is this thing any good?

    • +4

no, get from same brand the canoe/kayak style, they are good to paddle. this one is more a stationary or to/from boat/land .
the Kayak shaped one are very good actually, and convenient to carry around.

      • Thanks but I already pulled the trigger… Damn it

  • +3

Love these fake Amazon reviews. Hard to trust review rating anymore.

Average BMI of 28 and if you load 5 adults, you will be going aboard MATEYS.

This is probably designed for normal humans. Not 5 fattys.

    • +1

      600kg weight limit.

5 adults weighing 120kg each… i think that's more than fair as a reasonable 5 person weight limit.

Blow up boat and fishing - what could possibly go wrong?

  • This looks so cool

  • +1

This would have been useful when Google maps used to tell us to kayak across the ocean as part of the directions to go overseas..

Inflatable and fishing are two words that shouldn't really go together.

  • It's this website legitimate?

    • Same question? anything related to return and refund?

    • +1

Don't know, but I'm guessing it doesn't update stock in real time, so I'm tipping they are about to cancel 2,999,325 orders.

    • +1

From what I can read into, it doesn't look like it. There are a few things that don't add up, but that doesn't mean you won't get your boat.

  • +1

i wouldn't risk my whole family's life on this

    • +4

Not even at this price? Can't afford not to

  • +7

    NYE on the harbour sorted.

  • After a bevy of work meetings without coffee I nearly bought this because I read it as "Persona 5 raft".

    Thank goodness it's Friday.

Got a smaller Intex kayak on sale a year or so ago they are stronger than what you would think. Have used them with the kids to go down shallow rivers, over rocks etc.

Obvious advantage being you can transport easily, deflate and throw it in cupboard at home and forget it until next time.

Some people on here forgetting that you and family should be wearing life jackets anyway, regardless of what it's made of.

    • +2

exactly what I was thinking, nicely said.

this thing has the option of mounting a small motor… hardly a pool floaty/toy.

    • +1

I've got the single person version. It's super fun for the casual rower. If you are serious, get a pro row boat for $5k.

  • +2

I bought this yesterday at $199….

Thought about a Kayak but this should be better for fishing. Have a look on YouTube for vids on modifying with hard floor etc. If anyone finds a deal on 40lb+ transom mount trolling motor post it up.

    • From this site?

Can't figure out if it's worth the risk buying from here

      • Yeah, from Click Central. Have a tracking number but not track able with Auspost yet.

It's the Click Frenzy people. Seems legit enough.

    • +2

i bought one two weeks ago $280…from KG Electronic Ebay. I haven't opened it yet…

    • +1

If anyone finds a deal on 40lb+ transom mount trolling motor post it up.

44lbs From Anaconda $269 for Club members. Free C&C or $29.99 delivery.

      • Is this better motor (height, performance) than
The intex branded 13v motor ?

Anyone can recommend deep cycle battery that suits above motor (anaconda or intex)?

  • Some reviews suggest it's poor quality and punctures easy.

  • +3

'Saving people looking for reviews. From this review

    Pros:
    Very large and spacious
    Comfortable floor and seats
Easy to modify to your own needs
Has the option to mount a motor
    Tremendous value for the price
    Cons:
Included oars are weak and too short
A few people report problems with leaky seams
Difficult to fold back into the bag
Floor take some time to deflate because there’s no quick release

Xiaomi needs to make some cheap Outboard e-motors that can be used with these boats.. would be fantastic and cheap to get around in the waterways without a General Boat Licence under 7 knots.

    • +1

They exist, are called trolling electric motors which you can get at BCF and Anaconda (needs a deep cycle 12/24v battery). For op, a 40lbs motor suffice.

      • +1

Not quite. There's a bit of a diff between proper Outboard e-motor and trolling motors:

        https://www.epropulsion.com/post/electric-outboard-motor-gui…

"Unlike the trolling motors (measured in static thrust) that can only go at slow trolling speed, true electric outboard motors can provide much higher power: They are designed to be used as the primary power source."

Trolling motors are quiet and mainly used to move a boat in still waters to better fishing positions as a secondary motor.. They aren't super quick compared to proper e-motor ones that replaces the petrol 2/4 stroke stuff.
