Best to check if it is loud enough. Have a few different DAB+ radios (not Bluetooth). All have just enough volume for a small room.
And they're power hungry.
Was in Myer today looking at the Sony DAB+ on clearance. Website only lists Pure & Panasonic. Have a $20 voucher to use
Ironically, there’s “Listen Live” via Internet streaming of DAB+ stations there.
I've never heard a DAB+ radio before, is there really any benefit to it compared to an Alexa where you can just call up +300 radio stations and million of songs by voice? Or is DAB+ dead before it even got off the ground?
depends how good the wifi coverage is in your house , back of my house is useless but DAB works fine ….front of my house wifi is fine and i run a google nest hub for radio in the background all day…..also the AAC bit rate of DAB+ is higher bit rate than internet radio if you are after sound quality ….not a big deal on tiny radio speakers, but more noticeable when you get to 4” 2 way stereo which one of my DAB radios has compared to my google hub …..for some people a google nest hub does the same function as a radio if they have good wireless in the house.
i take the DAB radio with me on holidays as some holiday houses don’t have internet and it’s tethering while there.
If only it had a rechargeable battery. What type does it take? Looks to be C-size!
