Upgrading Mobile on Higher Plan

Thinking of starting a new 36 month plan with Woolworths to upgrading my current mobile.

I'm already on the $20 pre-paid plan "own current mobile outright" but the new mobile plan is $25 a month, so how do you change over plans without cancelling one before starting the new one.

Do I need to get a new sim card or just swap over current Woolworths sim into new mobile and increase plan by $5.
Not sure if data bank will be lost, and need to keep same mobile number.

    Tomorrow I can call, chat, and everything else combined.

    But today "Sunday" their all home sleeping, having fun with the kids or out playing golf.

    This was option 2.
