Dyson DC29 (Full Size) vs DC35 (Handhold). HELP OZBARGAINER

Hey Ozbargainer.
Just bought a Dyson DC35 Handhold vacuum cleaner from the previous deal.
http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/65698
But it is Temporarily out of stock!

So, I search for another Dyson and found a full size DC29.
It got Double power but it's 8.8 kg (2.2kg for DC35).
They are just AU$50 difference.
DC35 for AU$280 and DC29 for AU$320

Struggling which one to get for three days already…
Ozbargainer please help!!!!!

  • It depends on your needs and what you will use if for mostly.
I prefer personally the DC35 for the weight so more portable especially if you want to vacuum high, low and into awkward gaps as they advertised (don't want to hold a 8.8kg vaccum)

  • how about get both :) try them for a month or so. Once you know which u prefer, sell the other one on ebay/gumtree on a discount. You'l still have got a bargain for yourself.

but back to your question. if you dont have many stairs around the house, the full model would be preferable. But most importantly, think about any attachements you may require around the house. then look at the dyson website to see which models have that attachments.

    • Thanks for reply.
I don't have any stairs in my unit.
Only got 2 rooms with carpet, others is wood floorboard

Btw, Which model do you have?

      • I dont have a dyson (yet) but am looking at diff models cuz it is almost time to upgrade my werthiem.

  • by the way, Dyson is offering a $100 cash back on dc23 and 41 till the end of this month, if anyone is interested.

  • +1

im in the same boat as you but i opted for the dc 35… the idea of having no cord and the weight influenced my call but thats just me

    • Finally someone has the same question as I do~
But the power of DC29 is double of DC 35
      It stops me….

      • High powered dysons are great if you have pets who shed lots of fur.

But I guess you just have to prioritize what's more important to you.
        E.g. cordless/$50 or power/you get it now

      • if power if what you are after then just get the dc29…

I asked a mate of mine who had the dc35, he basically said it will suck up most stuff but obvs sometimes miss a thing or two, but I can live with that

he has both dc35 and a dc23 (higher model than dc29), he used dc35 everyday, but the dc23 only once every 3 weeks unless you enjoy proper vacuuming more often

        • in my unit, every 2-3 days when we vacuum our lounge, it takes 1/2 of the container full, don't know where all those dirt came from. so for me, i prefer bigger bin, as i don't like going down to rubbish bin to empty the container.

at the end it is up to you, if your house/unit bigger then you might need empty the container once or more every time you clean up your house/unit. i just don't like holding those 2kg stuff for 1/2 hr.

  • just to remind you that dc35 using battery, anyone know the cost for the battery replacement?

    • Some review said the battery last for 2 years.
I think the battery costs around $55-65

      • so please take account that cost to the life of this equipment, are they the same strong with dc 29?

        • DC 29 is stronger than DC 35.
          Double of the power

        • so u know which one is better for your house and your wallet.

  • Hi, I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I can not purchase the Dc29 from either the FR or DE sites.
It is saying something like they can not deliver to australia. Is this true. Please help.

    • I placed order at FR site.
It go thur but still waiting for the stock…
I think they stop deliver to Aust..

    • Some items aren't available to be sent overseas to Australia, but the DC35 definitely can as mine has been dispatched and its arriving this week sometime. Try adding the item to your basket and going to the checkout, if there's a problem it'll flag it asking for an alternate address. I ordered mine through the .fr site.
