I bought some non-Woolworths branded prepackaged meat that was marked down, but when I opened it on the same day, it smelled spoiled so I threw it out.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows if it would be covered under the guarantee. It's not clear from the website if it would fit the criteria. I don't expect a marked down product to be the freshest, but I expect it to be at least somewhat edible.
I took some spoiled chicken back to the store and the first thing the store person said to me was that it is past the use by date. I told them I opened it the same day I bought it but couldn't come back to the store for another 2 days. She grudgingly refunded. No apology, no regards to customers welfare. I'm thinking about making a formal complaint
Lol that's happened to me once as well. Not like I got time to go back to store same day for one item. But then again I bet there are some dodgy people try to take back their expired food that laying in the fridge for months.
The same thing happened to me. I had the receipt which showed that when I purchased a whole chicken it was already out of date. I was asked why I did not come back immediately by the young girl. So I should drop everything and drive 20 min each way. I said I only shop once per week. No apology only questioning. They gave me the money but no explanation of why they were selling something out of date. I was young and foolish then, now I check dates on everything. The fresh food people, right.
Sometimes staff miss things, however I'm sure you never would considering how perfect you sound.

Yes, I usually wrap up in plastic bag and get refund/replace.
With delivery you just use their feedback and get refunded.
Annoying when you meal plan and need to buy additional though.
