Wi-Fi 6 Router Recommendations ($500 Budget)

Hi guys,

I need help selecting a router. I just moved into our new house and need a Wi-Fi 6 router for FTTP. Any good Wi-Fi 6 routers?

I was thinking of the Netgear Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream WiFi 6 Router.

Budget is around $500.

    How big is the house, and what is the internal wall construction (gyprock, brick, etc)

    Unless your house is small I'd consider a mesh system. 5ghz wifi is the only one that as uncongested/fast these days but has significantly reduced range so much so that you'd want only 1-2 walls between you and the router.

    Have a look at Eero 6, Deco X60 or if wanting to go super budget a bunch of Xiaomi AX1800s.

    Theres also the Unifi U6 LITE APs for $150, though by the time you add a controller and POE switch you're probably a bit over the $500 budget.

        I dont know what speeds, but wife and kids have stopped complaining about the internet not being available. And it reaches the toilet at the back. Only thing that mattered to me.

          Why do you need wifi near the toilet in the back is the real question.
