I had a bunch freebie $2 telstra sims from a while back. I used to be able to chuck one in and it would be activated already with its own ph number. Useful for getting first time user promos. Seems this dosent work anymore, even for the sims i previously used to receive texts. Are all sim providers like this now?
afaik all providers require you to provide ID to activate a prepaid sim to prevent them from being used for dodgy stuff
